Co-op connecting issue
So for some reason when I host a game my friend has trounle connecting - his loading bar starts then goes to zero and no go.... but if he hosts then I can join him no problem... ideas?

Yeah that's what we do - but I am a lot better at setting up the game -- he's real old LOL

Disable any extra mods you have. Start a lobby in local server. Put "sv_consistency 0" in the console. Start the map on a stock campaign, vote to return to lobby, should work now.

I'll try that - thanks ---- but we like to play custom maps downloaded from the internet. Is that considered a mod?
Either way thanks so much for taking the time to reply - I'll mess with it some tonight.

No, just other mods, like skins, sound replacements, etc. Just start the game in local server with a regular campaign like Dead Center, vote to return ot lobby, the settings should then work.

Giddy -up -- thanks man. I actaully deleted all of my custom maps --- they were pretty old.
I haven't played L4D2 in quite a while (got burned out) - so decided to download some of the latest maps a little a time. Everything is working good now.
Still a damn fun game!

You should always take off "any" maps and custom content when locally hosting so it don't conflict. Map scripts, props and such from custom maps can be really a bother and slow down your loading times. From the fact, your server side modification will try to apply to his, but won't work since he doesn't have the same files. All that can be really used is the map itself only sadly, if otherwise you own a good desktop/laptop and like to use skins and more stuff alongside it, you can try using the srcds dedicated tool for the custom maps, it's more adequate as well.
