Kicking NEEDS to stop!

Okay, I am done. I dont know about you, but I've been playing this game since April and not ONCE has a day passed without me getting kicked. AND FOR WHAT? I never go all Rambo. I never hog weapons and items. I help people who are left alone by the other two members of the group. I share my items. WHY AM I GETTING KICKED. One time, I was kicked RIGHT AFTER joining. Why? I think kicking should be removed completely. It is abused WAY more than used correctly. Sure you may wanna kick that one guy who is a complete ass and gets himself killed all the time. But you dont need to. Just talk to him. SOMETHING. We should show this to Valve. Make a petition. Anything. Especially new players, who are gonna get their first impressions ruined. C'mon guys, lets do something! Anyone with me?

As much as I agree with you, there's no way to implement a votekick feature that can't be abused.
And this game NEEDS an option to kick, with the amount of immature kids joining games just to troll or grief, AND ESPECIALLY THE FACT YOU CAN'T MUTE PEOPLE.
But just do what more and more people do these days, especially with the rise of Pinion servers and other bull, play on your own local server. And use the console to instakick idiotic pricks who ruin your game.

As much as I agree with you, there's no way to implement a votekick feature that can't be abused.

Well it's understandable, the first few times, EVERYONE gets angry, and eventually as you play more and more, you almost expect it, and don't really mind that much anymore. Playing on local server is really the way to go about it, unless your connection REALLY sucks, but the Source engine doesn't require much bandwidth at all, and even 512kbit upstream should be sufficient (hint: sufficient, not good or perfect) to host for four players.
That way you can also use some mods and scripts that will work for everybody, as long as you make sure to set sv_consistency to 0.

This game is dead due to Valve's idiotic reasoning behind the vote/kick system. To top it off having no option for friendly fire is another joke. Every other FPS has that option. This game breeds trolls and griefers because of it. It's either that or ragers. The programming to change it is already there. AKA friendlyfire = 0 or 1. This elminates 1/3rd the trolls by simply giving the option. The rest is due to the abuse of he vote/kick system. It doesn't really stop the trolls, it's more of a benefit for the groupie veterans who play together more than anything else. You never have this problem with other shooters because the server admin usually takes care of the cheaters and trolls pretty quickly. It seems like the admins for the left4dead servers are never around and games are too quick and easy to troll since all it takes to win a round is to kill a person one time. Welcome to the community. LOL! Your best option is to play campaign mode and try some of the custom maps.

i'm sorry but i have to disagree. we need kicking in games. i just played with some ♥♥♥ called werewolf who started team killing cuz we "suck". the other person on my team didnt wanna kick them.

I have to disagree about friendly fire, L4D without friendly fire would be... I don't know, but it wouldn't be L4D. Imagine Realism Expert without friendly fire... Yeah, might as well be playing normal with OP commons.
There should be an option to turn it off with the console, but that would be sv_cheats protected (I'd be surprised if there isn't one already though, or at least I suppose there's some way to set how much damage FF does, so you could set it to 0 like on Easy)

Sometimes we boot simply because we want to bring in one of our friends without having to remake the game. They really should have given us host/Admin power rather than a dinky vote kick. When you've got 3/4, it's no problem, but when you've only got 2, you have to hope the other pug will also accept or you're stuck rehosting to get your second friend in. Other than that, we do let pug fill out the slots if they want to. So far I've not seen any TKing, and if anyone did it to us, we'd boot them out. The friendly fire is meant to force you to aim, rather than blindfire spam your way through the game. It'd be even easier and more of a dumb dumb shooter without it. The shooters I usually play have real aiming systems. This one has the easy mode auto win left click your cursor spot to win. Taking out friendly fire would remove what little realism or difficulty is left here. Games are usually made better with friendly fire, and this is one of them. Without it, I'd just shoot everywhere without a care, just like all the newbs do in crap games like Team Fortress 2. Killing Floor has no friendly fire, but it has a real aiming system. You either get one or the other it seems...

I don't know if it was the server or something but I got kicked from a game (at the beggining to make it worse) but instead of votekick was a voteban, when I tried to rejoin to the same game an error that my SteamID has been banned from the session appeared. So now is voteban and not votekick?

Also, if you run your own server, there are many Sourcemod plugins that can do things like stop people who shoot their own teammates on purpose. I made one myself that blocks friendly fire if the person is standing too close to you (i.e. the barrel of your gun is in front of them, how can it shoot them?)

Look at that picture. Rochelle and Nick are literally right on top of each other (half of a Source unit between the two of their positions, as shown in the picture). And yet the game wanted to do 45 damage to Nick. That's totally unreasonable, there is no way that shot should have hurt Nick.

I'm not sure what your point is. That you can't kick administrators? Or that blocking friendly fire that's too close (for EVERYONE) is somehow giving me an advantage?
