Have mods/addons hindered your ability to take this game seriously?
I can still take it seriously(I'm not sure how), but some of the people I know can't. What's your input?

No, because I only see mods that I install. If I think a mod is stupid, I'm not going to install it and it's not going to affect me either way.

It all comes down to the user for the add - ons I guess. Me personally.... I use add - ons that SHOULD be in the official game. I use a crosshair from TF 2 as a add - on in L4D 2. I have seen some CS:GO crosshairs in the workshop too. I.M.O. these crosshair add - ons SHOULD be in L4D 2 WITHOUT the need for the workshop. It makes sense. TF & CS are Valve official games. Why not put the crosshair options from those games into L4D 2?

I also have a sound add - ons for the sound effects the guns make. I lower them because my ears bleed from the current sound effects. The quality from the firearms is so awful compared to FPS games I have played.

This game is not serious. If I want serious, I'll play Left 4 Dead on my own for the experience. In that light, I've modded the hell out of everything I care to for whatever I want. Master Chief, Link, doesn't matter to me so long as the mod is good and I like it. If anything, Coach has ruined Master Chief, not Master Chief ruined Coach. If I wanted to, I could make the game "serious", there are good mods for it. But I like my game as a light-hearted conglomeration of silly, serious, and awesome things.

I like it that way too. To me, this game is a mix of a serious story that could possibly make a good TV show(The Walking Dead) and silly shooter with little to no point that you play to have a good old time with your friends(Team Fortress 2). Hell, my team has become a 501st Clone Trooper, Yoko Ritona, Mordecai, and Dale Gribble. The last time I played, they were on the RMS Titanic infested with Death Troopers.

While I never really took this game "seriously," per se, I was never really one for the silly mods. I just prefer using ones that add better textures/models to the guns and characters.

I play a lot of custom campaigns, makes me take the game more seriously to see all that crazy stuff.
