It is very difficult, right?

Very because even though i was spinning in circles every single damage i had taken within those 5 days were from zombies off screen

It's hard because there's a 99% chance some twit on your team will shoot you repeatedly.

Play Lone Gunman on Expert. After a while, go back to campaign and you'll find it ridiculously easy not to get hit.

Did what qq more said it didnt help and i did it with bots so i could go my own speed and they are easy to use as shields

"A while" means several days, not a few hours. Yes, several days means AT LEAST 10 in-game hours.
And Lone Gunman on Expert is hard, so if you're not that good it might not be the best idea I guess.
I have a bunch of videos linked in my profile of me doing this.

Really it comes down to your knowledge of the game, the people you play with, and luck... because si can be huge♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.. ESPECIALLY spitters and chargers with their 1 and 2 dmg bologna they can pull.

Lone gunman will help you to an extent with commons and nerves but nothing else imo. If you want to do this in an actual campaign you need to play campaign, albeit on a more analytical level, because many dynamics of the regular game are missing from lone gunman.

Yes. The more you play the better you will get and the easier it is to move around the maps avoiding taking any damage, even on expert difficulty. It also helps playing with people you trust who are good at the game.

The first part of no mercy you can make it to the safe room at 100 health. Also the first part of the parish you can make it to the safe room at 100 health.

TP1 is a pain because of those♥♥♥♥♥♥♥eating riot infected who'll often manage to sneak up on you and get a swipe in regardless of difficulty or weapon used. NM1 isn't all that easy, DA1 is easier IMO, but as a general rule, most first chapters are easy enough not to take damage if you're careful (obvious exceptions being Cold Stream, Dark Carnival and Swamp Fever, and maybe Dead Center if you suck with melee weapons).
Crash Course and The Sacrifice are too short to have their first chapter considered a first chapter so those two are harder too.

Contrary to what most people say, I find BH1 to be relatively easy if you have earphones and keep shining your flashlight in the dense foliage to draw CIs out.

Does the difficulty matter for this 'challenge' or is it considered done/beaten even on Easy?
Seems to me that regardless of difficulty, you can always be caught off-guard by some infected, but on Expert you'd have more to deal with.

Actually, I'm a little surprised there's no achievements for getting through campaign chapters/segments without sustaining any damage, at least from NPC's. Per chapter ofcourse, getting through an entire campaign without taking damage would be the most frustrating thing in the history of frustrating L4D2 sessions.

There ARE achievements for taking no damage but those are only present in L4D1, which is somewhat easier due to the maps being made for campaign instead of the L4D2 ones being readily built for VS. I think there's an achievement for not EVER shooting a teammate during an entire campaign, and another for not taking damage at all (all four players I think) after calling the rescue at a finale. And everyone knows the L4D1 campaigns are pathetically easy due to the lack of the three main problematic SIs as far as taking damage goes (impossible to reliably deadstop a Jockey, Spitters will almost always get 1 point of damage in, and Chargers often stumble you for 2 points), the Hunters hardly ever scratching you, and the infinite melee shoves, as well as the overpowered shotguns.

Mutations in L4D2 make any kind of challenge, including this one, easy, actually.
The only thing difficulty changes as far as taking ANY damage goes is that SI react much faster on higher difficulties, there are NOT more CIs (but the random hordes spawn at closer (similar) intervals on normal to expert, whereas on easy they hardly ever spawn), or more SIs. You're more likely to encounter a Tank or Witch (two per chapter, often) but then again, while on easy there's hardly any of those, normal and expert are the same.
So apart from the fact you're more likely to get smoked and start taking damage before your teammates can react, easy and expert are not really different. On expert you might see SIs attempting to scratch more often, but well.
