Is using a controller ok?

im thinking of buying a controller for my skyrim game, since the mouse doesnt work for dual wield or 2 hands very well..

so im curious if controllers work good for l4d2, i heard some people say they make turning hard.

if i do get 1, it will probably be a cheapo walmart or gamestop controller if i get one.

Just make sure it's an xbox controller.

But yeah I use one, doesn't make turning hard or anything.

I use a ps3 controller sometimes and it makes the game kind-of harder to aim and turn.but thats for me thought i dont know if anyone else thinks the same. :P

i aim better with a controller for some reason.. but if i can use a ps3 controller that would be great, because xbox controllers never felt right in my hands.

it would work ok with an aimbot I guess lol. one time I spectated a really bad player and it was obvious that they were using a controller: their aim tracks sluggishly around, they turn slowly, they dont twitch to the target, etc. I don't know, maybe they were just really drunk!

I can't see how you can use a controller in this game without some sort of aim assist (which i think the Xbox version of L4D2 has for that reason).

you aren't going to be able to react and aim as quickly than you would with a mouse so why would you want to use a controller in L4D2? skyrim is completely different, I can understand using a controller for that.

when i played it for xbox, aiming was fine, as was turning. so must just be pc version that cant read controllers as well.

It allows less quick aiming and less precise controls, but I'm sure there are some upsides that I've never seen. I personally can't to FPS games with controllers.

It's called Mouse acceleration in the option menu

why would a mouse sccelerate, help a controllers analog stick?

Yes it makes the movement speed up after a slight delay just in case you were only fine aiming, when the delay is passed the speed accelerates, hence the name

idk. if i buy a controller ill just look around options and test things. if it doesnt work, then it will be the controller of the dovahkiin only..
plus it will help if i buy reisdent evil 6.. 0.o

controller wont have enough buttons on it for l4d2. I personally use just about every button on the keyboard, and then some (extra buttons on mouse)

The controller has plenty of buttons on it, I've used it before and so many other people still do... This was a Xbox game too by the way

xbox doesn't have script modifications or the sheer amount uf buttons the pc version does.

all i need is to shoot, melee, crouch, jump and move and look around.. lol. i know controllers have that atleast. lol.
