Server is enforcing consistancy for this file: weapon_shotgun_chrome.txt when joining local host game
I am getting this error any time I try to join somebody's local host game. My friend is also getting this error when he tries to join my locally hosted game. I have verified my game cache and even reinstalled L4D2. What can I do?

It usually happens when one player has a mod that the other doesn't. That's why it only happens in local server games; in dedicated server games, a player's mods only show up to him, so if all four people have different mods, that's fine. In a local host game, your mods have to match. If they don't and two of them conflict, you'll get that warning.

It may not just be that one, either; it just picks the first conflict it detects and displays it. Depending on the number of cosmetic or gameplay mods used by either play, there could be a dozen different conflicts beyond the one it's showing.

It could also be something entirely different causing some sort of glitch; it's just usually a mod conflict alert.

You can use a developer command, "sv_consistency" and change the number.
I think that will ignore this problem ô.ô
Or download the same mod to your friend, as a indication to NinjaButter comment.

Have them disable their own mods and then enter sv_consistency 0 into the console; you should be able to join without any problem. If you still have issue, one or both of you need to verify your files.
