"Most do not understand this stuff. But, if you do you can adjust to at least one player while applying most of these principles and they won't even know. You will find that just by applying #1 your friendly fire rate drops significantly...."

And yes ThePlagued is a little punk-azz who has advocated greifing and trolling as legitimate ways to play in other posts.
If anyone that reads or has read this and fully understands these tactics add me. We would roll thru the maps with ease and it will be epic.
If you only take one aspect from this post may it be this; STOP ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SHOOTING ME.
Isn't SWAT usually the attacking party?
Not sure how SWAT tactics, regardless how much 'video-gameified' they are, can be
applied to a game where you get rushed by hordes of enemies all the time?
Maybe nitpicky, but still.
I agree, however, that a bit of solid common sense would go a long way towards a
more enjoyable (and social) gaming enviroment.
Restless if you wish to play L4D sometime maybe we can eventually build an awesome squad and roll with expert realism. You have a valid point. I suppose that's a reason I never thought of before. Most of my problems completing maps is because people run off or shoot in my direction, hitting me, trying to kill everything they can see. Don't get me wrong. I have friendly fire on occassion but the difference is astronomical compared to my team. While I don't generally expect strategy to happen, I don't think it needs communicated in L4D. Common sense should indeed go along way.
But, squad tactics as far as the way you move together have a huge impact on L4D and it's really fun. Even if people were able to stay aware of their team/surroundings but they can't. The thought, "we never cleared this area..." doesn't come around. Obviously your tactics change and should be more fluid in the situation of L4D. People can at least clear the direction they are looking instead of trying to kill everything. Knowing when to fall back should land under common sense as well. Calling out lefts and rights can be a big help too. But, even when I do have mic people just turn my way because I called it...and end up shooting me.
Zombie Vietnam would be sweet.
The game I want doesn't and will probably never exist. I also have to agree that Rainbow Six wasn't very good.
correction. army of two is great. involves perfect team work. if you rush a level, you are killed real easy.
most fun with a friend
