Sometimes it gets annoying though if people (not saying you ) overvoice their opinion and they're incorrecct and / or less experienced.

Example, was playing L4D1 versus and this lady kept saying "go boomer, go boomer, go boomer" in text chat. I spawned and got poped right away, as I knew I would, because no one distracted them for me.

Guess the rule of thumb is listen to them if they have high hours or seem to know what they're doing.

Seeing that you have 34 in-game hours (77 profile hours) on record, I would pay attention to how more advanced players play. Their responsiveness, aiming, strategy, how they respond to certain situations, quickness, and general play-style. It's the quickest way to get good at any game really.

And it's not really that hard to do. The L4D franchise is not a hard game to learn. I cleared Expert on L4D 1 & 2 before I hit 100 hours on both games. People that just plain suck have no one else to blame but themselves. People have taken this whole " work as a team " aspect TOO far & use it to justify the bad skill that they have. I got sick & tired of it LONG ago. I just join a game & just play. Not caring about other aspects. Since I tried & it never worked positively ever.

^ This especially. Also, context and tone are key. How you're telling those other people how to do something or what to do is important.

No. Bad advice.

Better advice.

So the point of your thread was looking for friends to play correct? But there was a lot of other stuff in there about how people don't listen to you, so posters responded to that, which is perfectly natural and relevant to your post.

Question: Is your tone bossy and arrogant when you give "advice"?
MunkeyThrust Dec 13, 2013 @ 11:16am
I'm sorry, the question was very simple. Lets just say you are obviously nuts okay? Yes blocked.

I'm sorry, I'm not one to get in arguments with. Let's just say you're not as smart as you think you are.

I can see why you get kicked when you offer your "advice"....

Hello! Left 4 Dead is a game sort of like Call of Duty. Both games are shooters that depend mostly on teamwork. I can understand where you are coming from when you say "Isn't communication the key to teamwork and success ?", but it matters how you are giving your advice. If I opened my own server for people to play on, I personally wouldn't want someone telling me what to do and what not to do in a bad tone.

You could do multiple things to avoid getting kicked and banned such as ignoring them, not saying anything at all, building up friendship and then giving advice, talking in a nicer tone towards people, and being respectful. Also, don't try giving advice to people that know what they are doing. Perhaps you believe you are correct and are doing the right thing, but really are not and that is likely why you are getting kicked. It can also be caused from repeatedly saying it to a player, this can be a form of harrassment and can be thought of as spam.

So basically, be friendly! Don't try to be the boss of everyone, because it makes people angry...

Uhh, just because some no lifer with 5000 hours knows all the tricks to playing better doesnt mean you should follow them....I learned my OWN way. Not watching no lifers play lol..

i dont think any1 wants to play with you after this lol

I would not mind playing with you, I get really sick of playing online because of the same reason, I always end up getting kicked for messing up one little thing, or even trying to talk.

It's hard to find good people to play with.
