Ok, the hell.
I was reading a mod description, accidently hit subscribe. It instantly installed since I was on the main menu.
It was a magnum sound mod, I didn't want it. Now it deleted the reload and draw noise. So I get a loud screech noise making it completely a pain to use. Which sucks since I like using it.

I verified my files 3 times, about to do it 4th time. Won't fix. I unsubscribed it and everything.

How do I fix this.

Try snd_rebuildaudiocache. It's gonna take a while, though. Once the process completes use the command exit in the console and restart.
Hope this works.

Nevermind.. took 4 file verifies, and turning off all my mods. Finally fixed it.

nevermind. still messed up. But now it is just my deploy noise. Not my reload now.. still sucks.
Guess I will have to stick with dual pistols.

Try deleting the folder which contains all the audio clips for the gun. Then verify the game. It should download the missing files.

Ok, so since it is Magnum, delete the whole magnum folder?

Try deleting the pistol folder as well, if you have to. The Magnum uses a lot of its gunother sounds from the pistol, for some asinine reason.

Thanks you guys but no luck. I deleted all my magnum sound file, my pistol sound files, Verified, and still get that ear bleeding sound. It isn't terrible, since it is just on deploy.

Guess I will have to deal with it.

Incase anyone sees it, this was the mod.

Did you try snd_rebuildaudiocache?

Holy mother of hell! No, all my sounds are screwed up. I picked up a magnum it made a zombie growl, I go to grab a gun, nick made a weird moan noise everytime. I pick up a molly, and my game a zipper noise.

Did you let it complete?
If you did everything right, then I made bad suggestion, I sorry.

You could try just deleting all your sounds then verifying to redownload them all? Then redo snd_rebuildaudiocache ?

Actually. It finished loading but stayed on the level loading screen.. So I closed the game. So, I will try it again.
But Talos guide me, I am about to put my fist through my computer screen.

I deleted all sound files, verifying.. it is 2.7 GB damn, If this doesnt work, I will try the snd_rebuildaudiocache one for time..
If it doesn't work and my game remains to be a spiraling suckfest of jacked up sounds, I just won't play it much anymore. I can deal with alot. but wrong noises loud in my ears randomly annoys the hell out of me.
