Tank Rocks changing target
I'm a survival player and this last days I saw a change on the Tank's behavior. The way Tanks change target when throws a rock, sometimes Tank has a target but suddenly Tank changes target and looks like Curve rock, like people does in Versus.
Very strange because bots never do that, and now it's happening a lot of times, any ideas? maybe some update?
Because some updates changed the game, like the last master update, changed Survival and fu**ed up pretty much Specials behavior.

This is one example:

Its been like that for a while but only on some servers just like some servers now have the closest spawns to the players blocked and others don't. IE no close spawns = higher survival time no question

Been seeing it happen in Campaign and with AI tanks in versus for quite some time now. Don't think there was any major update recently, so I'm guessing this new phenomenon came about with the previous one.

I notice it too. I dodge perfectly fine, then half way to me it does a curve and slaps me in the face.

Either the tank is a jedi in training, and uses the force to ♥♥♥♥ you up.
Or it mastered the "curve the bullet" trick with a rock instead of a gun.

yeah i noticed that too. i find the easiest way to dodge it is to actually stand still for a split second right before he's going to throw it and move backwards if u can at that point. If you can't move backwards then you have to kinda "shake" side to side
u can shoot the rock and it breaks up

This is caused by either m2ing the Tank in the back, the new target being biled on or because the game considers the previous target as non-reachable.
This isn't a feature, it's just how it's always been.

I know what you mean, and that's not the problem. Tank is aiming someone and if you get closer Tank changes target to you the last milisecond and looks like curve rock. The previous target is not biled or out of the view it's just a weird behavior and happens a lot. If I have a change I'll record some examples to clarify my explanation.

I believe you misunderstood, I didn't mean he had to be out of sight, there's a difference between being out of sight and when the AI simply can't calculate a path to a player. It's a very common happening with the Witch.

I've spent loads of time on this game and I have never seen a Tank behave this way in any other than the before mentioned situations, if it's as common as you say, I'd love to see that video on it and review it!

Thanks for the video, have you seen something similar happen in an open area?
There's is a bug like that for rocks, shown in the following video. (3:15 onward)

Keep in mind this is actual player behaviour, so it will behave differently as AI, which causes the Tank to face the Survivor right away and set him as a new target.

Yes, I saw this weird situation a lot of thimes recently, open areas and different maps. In my 5000 hours experience I never saw something like, only this days.
In your video it's curve rock, I know that, but AI does not behave like that, even if you hide behind a wall or something, Tank doesn't change target. I've only seen that when Tank was aiming someone and changed target to another player boomed. But that's only a coincidence and perfect timing.

It's not a curve rock done on purpose, please watch the video before assuming that I'm linking you to a dull video on How2CurveRock. :x

In my video you can see how rock changes target last milisecond, it's not like your saying in your video, I never ever saw something like you say in minute 3. I don't understand what's that. But I can see how the rock is going away and hit survivor anyway, that's another thing.

I was pointing at the fact that it would be dfiferent for AI, which is why I asked about the distance, it only appears to happen in close range and when you're on the same "level" as the Tank, which is kind of what happened in the video. But if it happens in distance as well and there's no boomer vomit, then yes. I'll happily frown at the Tank's powerful hacks as well. They're getting smarter.
