Why do I find so few servers?

I wantesd to play versus and there are like 5-6 different maps and it takes forever for a lobby to fill up. Since theres like 14k people playing, why do I see so few servers and why does it take ages to fill up?

around 1k of those people are playing publicly, the other 13k is sitting idle at the main menu, or playing with friends.

try changed the downloads of Steam in config.

First it depends on where you live, if you live in for example Sweden, Finland and all north ♥♥♥♥ the you will have less servers than for example thoose who live in Russia or Germany. Have the same problem and there is not much you can do, but there is 1 option in your l4d2 settings, in "steam cloud" DISABLE the automatic LAN-search ♥♥♥♥. Changing your country settings wont help since l4d now going for "ip-adress" where your internet is connected from.

btw most people about 10k from 14k are playing in game 2k idle 2k friends
