Crashes with windows 8.1.
I just downloaded windows 8.1 for some reason. Now everytime a game loads the game crashes. Anybody know how ot fix it?

Make sure your drivers are up-to-date.
Verify game cache
Make sure there are no add-on conflicts
Reinstall the game

It's not Windows 8 itself, lots of people use it with no problem. It has to be something else, probably your drivers as Visi said.

Its windows 8.1 not 8. If you have 8.1 and have no problem then please share. I'll try updating my drivers.

Yep, I've used Windows 8.1 Professional and Enterprise with no problems. There are a few other issues that could be causing it- off the top of my head overheating might be possible if you have a laptop or older PC, older PC with low RAM might do it too I'm guessing

I have the same issue. Put together a new computer and for some reason this game doesn't work. I can't even get to the menu system. Every other game works fine.

I figured out the problem. It was two workshop items conflicting with each other not windows 8.1.

I have Windows 8.1 from January 20, & yeah the problems started, crash to desktop, re-connecting in 15 seg... & blabla bla the only solution for me was open the Steam Ports, in the console typing "lagcompensation 1" after "cl_cmdrate +100" 5-10 times & this, fix it, try it dude. no lost nothing (:
