Anyone else seeing an influx of hackers lately?

I never accuse people of cheating. Almost every time I die, I know there is a reason for it. A couple of buddies and I play VS together almost every day. Yesterday, and the day before though, we ran into 3 hackers. I've been playing L4D since the first one came out, and I've maybe seen a total of five in my entire play time. Did the game just go on sale for crazy cheap lately? We knew for sure they were botting because we tested all three. Spawning crazy far away and just poking out around a corner for a very short second, resulting in them snapping for a headshot. All three of them, after we called them out.. they stopped being semi-subtle and just unleashed hell. I know VAC will get them..... eventually... Anyone else running into more than usual?

no, i dont really like pvp. it gets too competitive and the people can become bigger dbags.
but i would definitely report them if i see some too.
but yes its gone on sale recently and also for free.
im one of the free people.
free time was around christmas then last month was on sale.
so they are gonna start doing their crappy stuff.

Especially when I play versus. Only then, is it a real problem. Whenever I play, It seems that somehow a guy is doing the "one shot, one kill" thing with a hunting rifle. This is impossible without using aimbots.

Was asked to troll the other team because I accidently joined them.. wouldn't do it, won't ruin a person's game so friends can win lol...

XD For some reason I find more fun in killing a friend on versus than a random person.

Generally speaking, ignorant players are too quick to make hackusations. The most skilled players get called hackers all the time, and even after they link you to their twitch stream, the accusers refuse to go watch, and remain convinced about guilt. Any person cheating on stream would be ousted pretty much instantly. Watch the streams and witness the mechanical skill that players can possess. Expand your knowledge before you make silly hackusations.

Every SI except the tank can be killed in one shot. You can see Smokers because of the cloud around them, you can see other SI models/shadows clip through walls sometimes, or you can simply predict where players will choose to spawn based on the hundreds if not thousands of hours of playing versus. That 'awesome spot' you think you just came up with for that SI spawn? Yeah sorry, its been done before. Countless times.

This is the kind of ignorance I'm talking about. You do realize that headshots exist in this game? You can one-shot Hunters, Jockeys, Spitters, Smokers, and even Chargers with a Hunting Rifle, though Chargers will most often be shot multiple times in quick succession or simply leveled. Regularly skeeting hunters while in a mid-air pounce with an HR is not unheard of for a well-experienced player.

Hackusations come from ignorance. If you don't know much about the game, and specifically how hacks operate, then you can't really accuse someone of cheating. Just because someone lands shots that you cannot, does not make them a hacker. Just because someone gets a lucky streak of kills, does not make them a hacker. Just because you are a predictable player does not mean that you were killed by a cheater.

Don't get me wrong, hackers do exist, and aimbots do exist. However, they are extremely rare to come across, and I would be surprised if anyone has met more than 5 or so in a year.

Well... hacking is as easy as going to a certain site i will leave unnamed at this time, and downloading whatever hacks you want to use. That simple. So while its often a rude cop out to accuse someone of hacking, its not like hacks are hard to get or use because theyre readily available to all at the click of a button.

I'm 100% with you on this. I've been accused of hacking quite a few times. I myself though, have rarely EVER seen hackers in L4D... I've just seen a little too much for my taste in the last week. (3)

I saw hacking twice.
1 was on my team in versus, I died, and was watching him and noticed he was shooting things in the head instantly as it spawned. So we kicked him, I don't care if it can help us win, I don't deal with cheaters.

And another time, a guy was shooting at us through walls before we spawned. He was somehow following our ghosts and shooting at it.

Worse , some aimbots actually snap into ghosts.....

I'm a ghost in the safe house before they exit...while waiting for others to load.

1 survivor keep heatshotting infected ghost with dead accuracy ....

HES DOING IT EVERY SINGLE TIME THOUGH....... EVERY SPECIAL HE KILLS IS ONE SHOT WITH A HUNTING RIFLE. YOU'D THINK HE'D MISS AT LEAST ONCE OR TWICE.
