But yeah, Normally I hate shotguns in this game, too boring in my opinion, but versus isn't a campaign you can just screw around in, and shotguns seem to be best rush weapon..
well, my style would get me kicked XD If I hear a smoker on a roof, I throw a molotov up there and burn it to death. So my way of playing is frowned upon by the left4dead community.
This.
There is no one right answer. Not only should personal preference and individual weapon skill be a factor but also current choice of play style, abilitiy of opponents, what map you're playing, whether or not you know a tank spawn is coming up, what is available, ect...
U are in a completely noob team who friendly fire , molotov hunters , wasting bile and have their speakers turned off.
or ,,,
U are in a decent team and the entire opposite team quits.
Not true. What about when your team quits XD
I've had people quit after first round, when we weren't losing by much
But in all seriousness, instead of steamrolling with autoshotties, try challenging yourself. The chrome shotgun is surprisingly effective, with a nice tight spread. The uzi is also fun and effective. Any melee will do, but crowbar is my personal favorite.
I've taken down plenty of people who used it.
And a public versus game isn't a place to challenge myself, theres 3 other people I dont know who would like me to be at 100% and show the other team what the curb tastes like.
1) The sniper is typically used to deal with SI from a distance. When it comes to things like Hunters or Jockeys, it's a simple matter of not missing. and if something is attacking your fellow survivors, the high damage of the sniper allows you to put it down quickly. The magnum is used to deal with common infected. When there aren't SI around, I pull-out my magnum which makes conserving ammo much easier, especially if you want to save your Explosive/Incendiary ammo.
2) When dealing with SI (especially in the case of chargers, tanks, or witches), when my sniper doesn't manage to kill-off the SI, I whip-out my magnum to finish it off. The quick reload with the magnum also makes for a very quick and consistent damage output (in my experiences).
Now, a lot of people may not think that that works very well on versus, which is understandable. But I try it all the time (yes, on versus), and I do just fine with it. So, there's one idea.
Other than that, I'd say Restless pretty much "hit the nail on the head" as the saying goes.
