It's a glitch, Valve hasn't noticed yet, or doesn't care.
Theres no sure way to fix it if your mods are from workshop. Your best bet us to go to L4dmaps or something..


either that, or you need to re-download them all 1 by 1.
Most mine have stayed, but any new ones are deleted so I got the ones I want most off l4dmaps.com.

So please, there's 700 posts about the add-ons. We all know its not working right. Be patient, download off of steam, or play vanilla.

I believe theres a limit before they are removed.. idk the details but I have some working gun mods for my game. but others are from l4dmaps

I found way to get mod in steam. all u have to do is try ot subcribe it while u in the game. it works for me, but it up to u to try to do this.

I did it too. but it only works SOMETIMES. its worth a try. but for me, ill stick to the l4dmaps, because its 100% working.

But i think theres a limit to the mods you can use until they stop working.

The general problem here is users post before looking for a solution first. Every time there is a problem like this, there are a ton of posts about the same thing. If everything were contained in a single thread, it would make it easier for everyone. Stop being so lazy and search before posting.

not hard,
download, then move the file from downloads to add-ons.
I just watched a youtube video on it , and figured it out.
all though,, the videos kept saying i needed some program to add them, when I didn't.

What? Downloading the VPK from L4DMAPS.com and saving it to your ADDONS folder is too confusing? Workshop is full of glitches. Downloads take forever and will only install when you are in-game. What about needing to install all compaigns in multiple files? That's not more confusing that a single file from L4DMAPS.COM?

UPDATE::

Ok, You can have up to 50 workshop items, so if they stop installing delete any you dont have activated anymore. I did, and all my new ones installed up instantly in their place.

So 50 of ones you can't find on l4dmaps. and BOOM! you are set to shoot ♥♥♥♥. so grab your my little pony shotguns, and Moo Tank Milk.
Your problems are solved as long as you dont rely only on the workshop.

NO! It got even easier! You download it, extract it, run the vpk file and it aouto installs. At least it does with maps
