Multiplayer racism

I was just kicked from a multiplayer game. I joined a server just to play (was automatically chosen to be Louis), and the immediate racism starts (because of my nickname). I ignored it and kept playing decently. The next level starts and one of them decides to shoot me down in the safe room with the tough comment 'heal that up ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥', then all three leave laughing their heads off over the teamspeak. One decides to return to shoot me some more, only to be dragged away by a smoker. His friend comes to try and save him and he gets jockeyed. I assume the other guy just got taken down by all the zombies. Apparently this is somehow my fault so they put a vote to kick me.

I know this is rare in this community, but I wish I remembered their names to shame them. Is their an option to see who the last person played with is? If not, perhaps they'll see this thread and no doubt say something along the lines of 'it was just a joke'. It's really not needed.

this isn’t new, unfortunately l4d2 has one of the worst multiplayer communities ever
(which is odd seeing so many people complain about it, you would think at least more than half of us aren’t ♥♥♥♥♥)

I will admit I've only been playing multiplayer recently, but I've played in worse communities (such as league) and I've never experienced this. I play with ragers and such, but I don't mind them compared to people who target you deliberately and have the ability to shoot you down. It just encourages more trolls, but I could see why close minded racists would play this game.

i've had too many trolls come in and just start shooting the players. i've had people come in and make horrible racist remarks.
i just play my game on a local server and set it to 'friends only' so no one else can come in unless they are on my friendslist or invited.
there should be a tab on your friends list to see who you've played with recently, but i think it closes out once you shut down steam. if you meet a decent player add them. then you can just set your game to friend-only too and not be bothered with idiots.

Shaming is not allowed on this forum (and I will report you if you do )

But yes, there is an option to see the last person you played with. Open the Steam Overlay from the game, there is a "Players" button in the top left. It opens a dialog with "Current game" and "Recent Games" tabs; you should be able to find them there so you can block them.

you're bound to find all sorts of idiots running around the internet, especially in a gaming community where people tend to show their true colors of how horrible they are at attempting to be funny. you can block them by simply going to 'view' and clicking 'players' - that will show you who you've played with last.

This is new to l4d2? This kind of thing happens in ANY game out there with text chat and/or voice. 3 friends trolling or messing with you. Shame them? LOL no. I doubt they care at all. On the Internet, people will say anything they wouldnt say to your face. It's anonymity. Maybe it's racism, but not always.

Muliplayer racism been around but the best opinion i can give you is just play with your friends and if you see them again get a pencial and write there names on a piece of paper and tell a admin

You can view who you played alongside.

Click on your username (right of the community) at the top of the steam client >> click on friends from the dropdown menu then click on the "Recently played with" tab and it'll list who you played alongside.

Report them to valve if you feel it's worth reporting which would be the better step to take rather than bringing it to the public forum which I suspect would have adverse affects causing arguments amongst the community.

Just some friends trying to be funny. I do agree that I rarely see this kind of community (Not often that people ignore my health or such) in l4d2, but people are aaaalways trying to talk about "different" usernames.

Still find the community okay, people often give me the stuff I need if I ask for it, which is nice.

A "Yellow" is a racial slur against asians.

Speaking in the lines of the conversation here I have heard people say when the L4D2 Characters in the Swamp Fever map say, "Mudders" that is a racist term.
