STUPID ♥♥♥ RUSHERS!
I just played a game of L4D2 and when I joined two of the players were rushing through the whole level without me and the AI! I told them to stop and they said MAKE US and they left us to die. What a bunch of ♥♥♥♥heads! Ever had something like that ever happen to you? If so, express your anger on this discussion page and show them whos right!

yeah but its stick with the team
if your team is a more fast moving team then you have to try and keep up if your low on health and they did this cause your going slow that makes them even bigger ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s.
for the most part i try and stay atleast within one room behind them.

If you're slowing them down, then they have the right to not wait for you. If you're healthy and you can't or wont keep up with them, then find a new game. If you're bleeding and limping and they wont save you, find and use a health item to keep up, or again, leave the game.

There are two ways to play this game, slowly, or quickly. Slow is the easy way that new players use. Fast is the method used by experienced players. Neither side is "right", though rushing is the technique that displays more personal knowledge, skill and ability You just need to accept that there are two choices in how to play this game and not everyone is obligated to save you, especially if you join midgame and replace a bot that they were intending to abandon anyway.

Communicate, keep up with your team or find players who are willing to go as slow as you.

Sounds like they were racing. That's different from rushing. You want to move fast but you cant leave teammates behind. They were probably seasoned players screwin around or being ♥♥♥♥♥. Just leave the game and find another. All kinds of people in this game. Dont take anything in this game personally.

Running through the level and leaving someone behind is often the way to beat the level. In the time it takes you to rescue and babysit a guy that won't keep up, zombies will keep respawning and attacking. It makes more sense to lose 1 and win as opposed to wiping trying to save him. Winning with less than 4 is better than wiping and getting none to the exit. You should be willing to accept being a matyr in this game if that's what it takes.

I think the only time you have to rush is on "the bridge" of the map "the parish".I do believe that's the only time evryone in the whole group has to rush or else most likely you'll end up dead in the water or something.

Whoooo boy here we go again. Sounds like the OP has only 1 game play style. And thinks it's the ABSOLUTE way to play. I will say this & keep saying it. Rushing is a valid way to play. And if you have not even tried it, then maybe give it shot. Otherwise do not complain about something you have never experienced before.

if I make a game and A) we get someone who runs ahead and doesn't wait for the rest of us (actual players, not AI) I tell them to wait up for the group. If they don't I don't rush in to help when they get attacked, usually ending up with them dying.
and B) if they are always further behind I have to ask if they are new. If i get a newbie I stick by them and help them learn the game. If they aren't and just won't stay with the group I leave them to die.
in either case, if them rushing ahead or lagging behind greatly affects our game we usually vote them out. but that is after letting them know they aren't keeping with the rest of the group.
If it is not my game I keep pace with them. they want to run ahead i follow, they want to search every room i search with them. respect the person who is hosting the game.

I give up on public games.
This forum convinced me that this isn't team based..

I say joining a started game and ruining someone elses game, by not working as a team is wrong, and apparently I'm the ♥♥♥♥.
I guess I need to learn alot more.. Please someone teach me the correct way to play this free-roam game..

Every campaign has several crescendos that require you to move quickly and reach the end, whether to hit a switch or get into the safe room. Some require you to defend briefly, while others cannot be "waited out" and must be completed by rushing through. There is a reason why Cold Stream is perceived to be the most difficult campaign by new players: it is a wake up call for them that the slow and steady method is not adequate enough. Some crescendos are shorter and tamer than others, but clearly the game does challenge you to move quickly at certain points in the game.

Some points where you must know how to rush:
Dead Air 4 - metal detector to safe room
Dark Carnival 4 - ticket gate to stadium safe room
The Passing 2 - sewer tunnel to safe room
The Parish 2 - alarm switch
The Parish 5 - bridge
Cold Stream 2 - sewer tunnel and Finale map

There are far more events which require you to move than there are ones where you can simply "wait the horde out". Waiting out the horde does not take skill, it just takes time. The Tank, arguably the "boss" in the game, requires you to be mobile, and rarely is it efficient to crouch in a corner of a room and fire at it until it dies.

High level play, whether in veteran versus games or high difficulty campaigns, reward players for moving quickly, and punish them for moving slowly. Versus is all about distance points and minimizing enemy SI attack opportunities, and in Expert campaigns, every second you waste will lead to more damage from common and another opportunity for natural hordes and SI to respawn.

That doesn't happen to me,
as i am guilty of being a rusher myself.

Unlike most people who do it to troll or win on versus however...
I do it for fun.

I like fast paced action, and i usually play with other people who like to rush so we all do it as a team.

P.S fyi, the game is called left 4 dead.

And this is how the public game scene will get worst. I mean no offense Munkee. But if people give up, then of course nothing good will come from it. Some advice from a veteran, just play when you enter a public game. Just do the best you can. And don't let the small things get you upset. There is more to be disappointed about ( like the bad hit detection ) in this game. I.M.O. the people in this community are just that. Human beings. Can't change human nature. Why change it in a video game? Don't worry about it & enjoy the games. As for me, i stopped thinking about the small aspects. Turned out for the better.

all that was sarcasm. (minus the fact i'm done with public.)
I'm a good player, I can read my team quickly and see if they want to rush or move slow.

But the fact alot of public players are selfish, want to play THEIR way. Which is perfectly fine, but if I run into rushers who are going for a speed run campaign, and I want to move slower, I rush with them to the saferoom, then tell them ima find a slower game, and leave, no trolling, or complaining involved.

I like to carry a pipe bomb on me always. so incase someone is incapped and i need a opening, ill toss it and get them..
I had a kid join a game once, found 3 pipebombs, tossed all 3 instantly and he only killed like 5 zombies..
When I told him I wanted 1 of those. he said "shouldn't move so slow."
I'm with the 2 other players, moving OUR speed.. then he started the horde.. I know this is a ♥♥♥♥ move.. we let a hunter kill him.. haha.
daisycutter Mar 17 @ 10:44pm
what you would do in real ? I find it most challenging to bring your team through and help out what they are not capable of. Pls took me on in realism and I just listen to them what to do and it works out fine for both sides. Everyone needs a hand somewhere. And you just don't know when. That's THE lesson you have to learn. Until then you're not team playing. You can do egoshooter instead. Teammates who act stupid and don't get it you can't really help and I'll tell them and give up it they don't like to change. So the slowest player dictated in general the speed and your moves. So improve and beat that challenge. But find yourself a supersonic team and do it the fast way as you prefer.
Gasman Mar 18 @ 5:14am
@Munkee i dunno who was yelling at you, but i dilligently read thru the thread and couldnt help but notice you're the ONLY one who took notice to how OP joined someone elses server. This ♥♥♥♥ing matters, as frustrated as i might be too, you cant blame them for not wanting to carry someone who just joined. And if that makes you a "♥♥♥♥", then i'm an asian transvestite, and up is down. It sucks that the player base is caustic, But dont give up. I'd like to see you around the forums more.
