Your favorite L4D 2 campaign
We're on an assignment at school where we are to gather information about the most popular campaign in L4D 2. We need your help to strengthen our statistics.

We're ONLY focusing on the VERSUS mode
The campaigns we're focusing on are:
Dead Center
Dark Carnival
Swamp Fever
Hard Rain
The Passing
The Parish

Question: Which are your favorite campaign and WHY?

That's... An unusual assignment for a school.
But I do quite enjoy Dead Center.

@daniu I know there are other threads about the same subject but the difference is that I want a motivation of why the campaigns are their favorites.

Yes thank you, but why sir.

Oh yeah, I guess I forgot to mention "why". Well, uh.. Hard to say. I guess I just like the whole setting of an overrun mall, and the last stage is pretty neat with the huge mall area with different levels and balconies. And as annoying as the gas can throwing and filling up might sometimes be, I do find it quite fun, really.

I like hard rain. I like how you're supposed to save supplies for the return trip and how the water changes how it's played.

The Parish is my favorite out of the L4D2 campaigns. But your school is the best school ever, having that be a school assignment.

dead center because the dialouge for that campaign is funny.

No Mercy the first and the best

Ok, if i had too rate the campaigns from LEFT 4 DEAD 2 ONLY from worst to best, excluding coldstream, my choices regardless of versus or not would be:

6) Swamp fever
1st stage...a swamp. 2nd stage...a swamp. 3rd stage...a swamp. 4th stage...a mansion. Seriously, all the levels except the 4th are a swamp! And the swamp is boring!

5) The passing
The first 2 stages lack "wow" to them. There is nothing wrong with the campaign, but it doesn't have the same epic moments the others have. The finale just felt forced and uninspired.

4) Hard rain
Most people like this campaign, mostly because of 4 things, but i disagree with the majority:
• 10 witches in 1 level ( Witches are easy to kill with a shotgun )
• The weather effects ( The rain looks cool, but it doesn't have a major effect on gameplay like people claim it does )
• The backtracking ( This idea is not unique...it's lazy )
• The field ( The only thing i agree with )
It's a good level, just overrated.

3) Dead center
This one used to be my favourite, but it has some wierd design. What i like is how iconic and silly it is. It is one of less serious campaigns. 1st stage is heaven for chargers, as they can insta-kill you at any moment thanks to the windows and balconeys. The gun shop is just ♥♥♥♥ing badass, and the convienant store despite being empty, was really fun. I also like gathering the coke, the concept is just funny to me. The third stage stopped this campaign from being higher, as it is really boring. The finale on the other hand is one of the better ones. Rather than having to survive, you are actually given an objective of gathering cans. Sweet. Oh, and it takes place in the atrium of a mall...super sweet.

2) Dark carnival
This + No mercy are the 2 most played campaigns in left 4 dead. And for good reason too. This campaign easily has the funnest moments. Let me sum it up with another list...
-1st stage: Has a motel that is great for exploring and is very detailed and fun.
-2nd stage: Is boring on it's own, but it has a bunch of hidden mini-games you can play.
-3rd stage: Takes place on a rollercoaster...need i say more?
-4th stage: Super long and hard crescendo that requires to blast through wave after wave of infinite spawning zombies. Easily the hardest portion in the entire game.
-5th stage: Survival on a rock concert. Incase you didn't know, concerts are awesome.

1) The parish
The very last campaign. I love this for many reasons. It has the darkest storyline and backround out of all levels: the military being unable to help, and bombing innocent people to cover up evidence. The only campaign with a storyline that dark is death toll from the first game: the apocolypse driving people to insanity and turning on one-another. The jazz music that plays throughout, the orange tropical textures, and bars scattered around give it a cool, southern feel. The first stage is nothing special, despite featuring a starting insta-kill spot for chargers. The second stage is in a park, that has several awesome spots for infected to pull away survivors and get them lost in the hedge maze. The third stage has my favourite area in all of left 4 dead...the parking lot. It has car alarms litterally, EVERYWHERE. Unlike the rest of the game where it felt like i was just running around shooting stuff, this section actually had stealth. And we all know stealth is awesome. You can also be an idiot and shoot all the cars, which makes it more challenging, but it's main aspect is how intense it is to avoid infected pulling you into them, or shooting them yourselves. If i tank appears, then your screwed. The 4th stage is super-long, and has a parade float crescendo. The music and the float itself during the event once again add to the atmosphere. The event requires you to either rush to the saferoom before the float crashes, or wait until the float crashes, and then go. The entire level is filled with rooftops and allyways and ledges, making it the best level for smokers. Then...there is the one...the only... BRIDGE .
Best finale ever. It is arguably the hardest level, just being short of the gates in dark carnival. It has several insta-kill spots. The hardest tank fight ever, and focuses on rushing and moving quickly. It is very open, and has several different routes you can take, with infected always spawning and always chasing you. You feel like jesus if you manage to get into the helicopter at the end.

Truly epic campaign.

So my vote goes to the parish.
But if it wasn't just l4d2, then i would say dead air + no mercy aswell.

My favorite campaign is Dark Carnival. I'm personally into that atmosphere of "haunted amusement park". The whole idea of a place meant for fun being overrun by zombies just appeals to me. Not to mention the concert at the end of the campaign. I especially like this part because of the music. If you're into mods like I am, then it's so much fun to get all these different concert music add-ons that give different soundtracks to what is, to me, the most exhilerating campaign finale in the game (besides the bridge).

Hard Rain for me. I love the atmosphere, of a southern town. While the backtracking might seem lazy, it's an aspect only unique to that campaign, and you want to make sure to only take supplies you really need. The witches aren't that hard, either. I didn't disturb a single one on my first try of the campaign, with AI. Then the hurricane comes, and while it doesn't drastically alter the gameplay, it adds a sense of urgency. It also adds a sense of being ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off because you can't see at all.

Hard Rain.

You must have the best school ever, for that to be an assignment.

Oh, and just a question. What campaign do you yourself like best? And would you mind telling us the results at the end?

P.S, your school is awesome.

Mine is a toss up between Swamp Fever & Hard Rain. Swamp is a real long map & has some interesting spots(especially when you get to the plane.) & Hard Rain I like it because of the witches, environmental effects & choke points in the map.
