Official Dedicated servers discontinued?
There are no longer Official Dedicated servers available, did they remove those? Community servers suck, every time I want to play Campaign, the lobby sends me to a Versus server which restarts itself after a while since no players joined the zombie faction...

I have been having the same problems. From the lobby, I always connect to a bad pinion server. But the official servers do exist. But you might have to do a workaround. In console, type openserverbrowser. Under the Custom tab, a list of all servers should show up. The Official Servers have titles that look like this. ( Example: " Valve Left 4 Dead 2 ( srcds ) #14 )

Now the good news. You can freely select a server. Just make sure it has good ping / latency. And if you have friends that want to join you, simply invite them into the game once you connect to a server.

Now the bad news. Connecting via openserverbrowser makes games ALWAYS public. You cannot set it to Friends Only. And you cannot set the game mode as well. So if a server says a max of 8 players, you know it's set to VS. And you cannot change that.

That's precisely what I wanted to avoid. I've been hosting my own dedicated when I want to play with games, but now they cannot see my server even when my ports are correctly forwarded, so I can't use that option anymore... it sucks. I wonder why Valve let the game break like that, first the Workshop and now the servers, honestly...

I don´t think official servers are down or something. It´s just logical that if more players online there are less free official servers you can join.
