How to dead stop hunter/jockey in versus?
I know how to dead stop hunters and jockeys in co-op and usually have it working, but it looks like the same mechanic doesn't work in versus. Is there some other way to do it?

Same mechanics. It's still all in the timing. However people you play against could be running Lerp

Ahh gotcha... would that make that much of a difference?

Thats a very good question, i would like to know the answer as well.

In coop i can deadstop hunters 8-9 times out of 10. But in versus only 1 max. 2 times out of 10.
The players i played with was "normal" no Lerp stuff, and i still found it hard to deadstop them.
I time the melee same as in coop, but it wont work against players.

I hope someone with more experience can tell us if the player has to melee earlier or later than usual in versus.

Lerp determines how easy someone can avoid getting hit by something, and how easy they can hit you with it. Its only a slight edge but can sometimes make enough of a difference. Unlike in campaign where bots dont have lerp time, your opponents do and it may be lower or higher than yours and vice versa. So the time you need to swing varies with the person + their lerp and ping + your lerp and ping. There is no garunteed way to do it all day err'day.

Depending on where the jockey or hunter attacks from it helps to back up and jump while bunting. It helps keep enough space between you to optimize the chance and even if you dont deadstop them in the air youll still have enough time to stun them after they land before they can jump again.

Ooh awesome. Thanks! So it's better to jump and shove instead of just shoving? Jump backwards or something?

I wouldn't recommend that - you'll just lose your movement speed. Just shove in the right time.
I'm playing with lerp 30 and ping 60 and already got used to shove when hunter is really far-far away or jockey isn't even trying to jump yet (shove when he's close to you, then he's jumping and getting himself shoved second after) - it look ridiculously illogical, but it works 8/10. I believe it happens because of difference in lerp - most people are playing with default one.
Also, sometimes it helps to look up in attempt to shove the jockey.

Jump backwards, yea. IF hes lunges at you in a stright line. I wouldnt call it BETTER to do, but its a "tactic" some people use that they may find works for them. It works for me more often than not personally. And you wont lose your movement speed lol.

Aim up a little like Swooping said. You could bash forward when the jockey/hunters hit box is above you. When the opportune time to bash is varies like i said. Youre playing against people that arent as predictable as bots, and with different ping and lerp then you so against the individual you could need to bash early or late. Aim your bash upward as soon as you see the jockey leap off the ground. Beyond that i dont know how else to help.
