So I finally beat the bridge online on advanced... With Bots.
And I have come to the conclusion that, if you want YOU to survive, bots are actually better for that. Real players are more selfish, they'll leave you behind right off the bat. Bots are the definition of selflessness though, they heal you, give you their pills, always try to save you etc.

Yes, generally speaking, bots outperform the majority of players. They have superior aim, teamwork, and cover fire. They work with you instead of having their own egos and agendas. However, they're horrible against witches, tanks, they can't use grenades, and they're sponges with healing items, and playing with them can get quite boring after a while.

Parish Bridge finale is pretty simple though, its mostly just running and shoving with the occasional pipe bomb.

The bots actually are terrible, but they're still better than majority of players. (That's how bad most players are...)

A lot of good players only play on expert.

Gotta step up your game!

i heard alot of good players go back to advanced and normal because too many trolls join expert and mess your games up

90% of the time expert games seem fine for me. Occasionally, two trolls join in which make it impossible to kick them, but that seems rare for me.

I remember this one guy named chicken(somthing i forgot)64 kept trying to kill me on dead air on expert

And failed 4 times.....

Really? The regulars I play Advanced with are very selfless. We heal each other all the time, help each other up, never leave anyone behind unless absolutely necessary, provide cover, etc all while having a great time. That's why we all make the finale the vast majority of the time! I think the only thing I'm "selfish" about is maybe pills because I need something to sustain me while I use all my medpacks on others.

So yes, while I do agree that bots might be better than many players, I'd have to argue that friends are always gonna be better than bots (not to mention more fun)! I recommend finding some regulars to play L4D2 with- they truly make everything much more fun.

Well sometimes the bots are a little stupid because once rochelle was just standing in front of a tank looking at it got killed by it. She was so stupid when iwas playng the passing she would not get to the car. She was to busy trying to heal her self while tank was smshing her! I have to admit that they are dumb and stupid.

I generally use common sense when playing campaign on friends only or public. For example. After getting all your expert achievement, there is NO reason to do them again. Unless you are helping out someone on your friends list that still need the achievement. But after that? No real reason to go back to Expert.

As for public games, I usually play Normal when none of my friends are online. Advanced pub games are for when myself & another friends is online. That's to at least ensure griefers / trolls do not get their way. Or if someone comes along & tries any unjustified vote kicks.

I tried again online with players, and once again in the presence of real players, even helpful ones I can't beat it. Part of my problem is I seem to have huge lag, everything is going in slow motion at a certain point during the bridge, and the person playing with me said my ping is fine. It is pretty frustrating when you do everything right but you keep getting downed because your melee attacks aren't killing in one hit(sometimes I even hear the whang) and because you are generally moving in slow motion but the game isn't. It didn't help that I had a guy giving me some pretty conflicting advice. If I get to far ahead, I am too fast. If I stay back and help people, which he complained about when I didn't do it, suddenly I am too slow. Nothing worked. It sucked because he healed me right in the second to the last semi truck, and because I was so surrounded by commons that I couldn't kill with my darned melee weapon I was taken back down in health in a heartbeat. Even with graphics on low, I am definitively running into some problems with the Bridge on advanced. It is annoying because it's like I do every thing right. I use the melee,, and shove AND swipe but I still get so surrounded. I experience huge framerate drop online even though my ping is supposedly fine, and it gets worse near the stupid helicopter. He was also mad because I didn't save him fast enough, but whenever a special had him, I would have 5 zombies hitting me from all angles, killing off any accuracy I had, and the framerate drop made saving him take ridiculously long.

You were taking far too much damage from common. And yes, sometimes you were too far ahead, but most of the time you were far too behind. The time you were too far ahead, the other two players on the team were trapped behind the tank, and instead of helping to kill the tank and wait for them to catch up, you ran up ontop of the semi and started the next wave of horde, got capped by a Hunter, which I freed you from, and then you died to common.

Overall you need to improve your awareness as what you need to do changes with every situation. You also need to take a lot less damage from common; whether that was truly due to dropped frames I don't know, but I'm willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

Verify your game files, update your drivers, turn your graphics down. Turn v-sync off. If you're losing frames at graphically intense portions then it is likely something with your processor. Not sure how old your computer is, but I'm on a 3-4 year old laptop and I rarely drop frames, if ever.

Kind of hard not to when they are always in all directions all around you and melee attack doesn't seem to be killing them... I will try machete next time but I am not sure if the problem was the frying pan.

I keep getting into situations where they are all over though. By the time I swing, I have already taken like 25 damage. And Like I said, the melee weapons did NOT seem to be killing them. You can probably attest yourself to the fact that I was swinging at them and nothing seemed to be happening, you had to have seen it at least once. Not that I am saying you are disagreeing with me, I believe you when you say you give me the benefit of the doubt, but I think the framerate drop, or WHATEVER was causing my melee weapons not to want to kill seemed to be observable.

When you see yourself get hit from behind, you just turn around, m2 or melee swing, and then keep running forward. The arrows in the middle of your HUD show you which direction the hits are coming from.

thats why you need to play whit friends, not random people...or if you do, communicate for better coordinations..

I know about that. I was turning around and swinging and shoving. Sometimes I would swing right at them, even 2 or 3 times and it would only kill on the 3rd time. I tried guns too, seems that guns are more likely to kill for me, but they are too hard to work with in that situation.

How can I turn V-sync off?
