SUCH ASS-HATTERY!
Ok so it was me and a few teammates on Dead Center finale versus and the second tank came out, so while we were fighting the tank I ran up the stairs to get the last can and I got pounced by a hunter. Now my teammates weren't new and one sniped it off me from the floor leaving me incapped. As coach (a bot) limped up the stairs to revive me I sang praises of his awesomeness when all of a sudden a random person joined, took coach, gazed at me with a look of ominous hatred and jumped off the bridge killing him and ruining my chance of life then quit (He was literally in the game for 3 seconds).

So I ask you, the community of Left 4 Dead, why? Why is there so much ass-hattery happening? Why so many trolls and people who just come for a sick laugh at others expense? And do you think Valve is going to implement anything in the future of Left 4 Dead 2 or possibly in 3?

I think there was but it just seems like the more you wish in the back of your mind that they won't come, the more often they show up like I'm laying kibble out for them or something.

That's very unfortunate. There's not much you can do about it besides blocking all of them, possibly playing with friends, even if not in friends-only games. Who knows what people's motivations are for trolling or griefing.

There were many, but it definitely doesn't seem like many now in comparison to after the F2P day. Initially after the first few weeks it was actually impossible to play expert or expert realism games, since the usual suspects were completely lost among the scores of trolls, noobs, and griefers that invaded. There are still a whole lot now, but sometimes it's not so bad; having one noob on a team is actually fine with other experienced players since you can carry them, especially if they're nice and interested in learning.

I can't block everybody I come in contact with lol. And it's not just trolls and griefers that bother me, it's the seemingly endless number of self-proclaimed "pros" that lash out when they mess up or kick when they get hurt or killed. And rage quitters too but theres no hope for them. I understand rage quitters, people who think they can stay when things go well and opt out when things get bad, even if it's their fault to begin with. So to sum it all up I dislike about 50%-70% of the Left 4 Dead community xD

Well, you can try... I have 152 people on my blocked list, and it continues to grow. And it's totally understandable to not like vets who are excessively elitist about the game, it's pretty off-putting to someone who isn't a pro or really anyone who dislikes people being ♥♥♥♥♥. You can always just start adding everyone you play with who is nice, so when you join their games you'll have at least one friendly player with you.

I do try adding the nice ones it's just that I run into so few that it makes little difference. And I can't join people's games unless I'm invited, it conflicts my politness but they expect me to and when I don't they think I don't like them and remove me lol

Thankfully I am not like that - then again, I haven't played an online campaign yet, so what do I know.
But still, that's very unfortunate.

Well, at least you can post the link on his steam profile here.

Never got a look at his name. lol It didn't make me made it's just one of those "Are you freaking kidding me?" moments that just leave you dumbfounded for a second. I don't really take things like this to heart the only real way to piss me off is random vote-kick or team killing.

Too bad the block feature hardly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ works anymore..

People are people, and internet people are even worse. Anonymity is king.

Pro tip: Dead Center finale done right has 0 tanks.

happend to me.
i dont like public games, because people who play it suck.. lol.

played 1 public game after a longtime oif friends only and singleplayer,

had 3 trolls, 2 rage quits, and kicked 1 guy because he didnt think before shooting, i went to heal him and he shot a zombie behind me with a ak-47, and knocked my health from 80 to 20, so i stopped healing him, and healed myself.
then he shot another person after he was saved.

I'd rather take bots over real people anyday.. lol.
default, not that pointless improved bot mod

I'm not to sure about the bots in L4D or L4D2 lol I've had some pretty horrible experiences in both. Like bill standing next to me incapped watching me bleed to death or coach unloading an entire clip into my back without moving to the side or rochelle rushing forward with 1 health black and white to get pills only to get hit by CI. That's just a few xD

Personally I prefer playing with people but I also don't. Good people are dependable, trustworthy, skilled and smart. Bad people are selfish, unpredictable, ruthless, and rude.
I just have REALLY bad luck in L4D like a tank spawning right behind me on No MMercy finale and knocking me off the roof without a second to react, all I heard was "AAARRRGGHH" and went flying lol

I think this one is my personal favorite so far. While using the Improved Bots mod (which, as you can guess by the name, generally improves AI behavior and also lets them play on if you die so they can potentially revive you), all three of them stood and watched me die to a hunter, then ran into a fire repeatedly until they died.

I know what you mean about playing with people. I've met some great friends in public lobbies, but also played with a LOT of complete idiots or people who refused to work as a team. I've had plenty of games where a player would leave the match and our team's performance was actually better with the bot that replaced him.

Edit: Oh, this is also a good one. Louis kills himself by standing in a fire while neither does anything about me being smoked.

@Ninjabutter
Maybe they really do mimic real players... That's just mind boggling and kinda sad.
I'd probably rather have a pet tiger protecting me that the L4D AI... Unless it got infected from biting the infected.... idk
