finally got new ps3, main question here vvvvvv
can i use the controller for l4d2? or is that only xbox controllers?
would make this game 10x easier than a keyboard for me.

You "might" be able (I don't really know for sure since I have never tried) to play with the PS3 controller if you use a software like "MotioninJoy" to bind the keys (you can get it here: http://www.motioninjoy.com/download).

I'm not sure why would anyone want to play a PC game made to be best played on the mouse and keyboard, with a controller 'tho.

really?, I've always felt the other way arond, that I have more control for FPS games with keyboard mouse, that I play better.

I think I'm more comfortable playing with controller though, because I can sit any way I want, and I will recline as much as I feel like.

Just yesterday I tried to play L4D2 with a N64 controller, since I have N64 to USB adapter. With joytokey I got the stick to register like it should, but the stick is one I bought off ebay to replace to original one that was worn out... and it sucks, there is no middle ground for the sensitivity, it's either too little sensitive or too sensitive.

Anyhow, I'm 100% sure it's the stick. If you can get the computer to detect the controller, you can use it to play L4D2.

Try the software I told you on the other post.
Now that I think about it, I've used it once before to play Super Meat Boy (Steam version) and my original PS3 controller worked like a charm with it.

The main problem you might have is to get both of the analog sticks to work properly with Left 4 Dead 2, but with some tweaking it might work.
Good luck with that.

I was always a Sony console guy aswell (never had an Xbox) but I'll admit that the Microsoft controllers (360 and now the new one from the Xbox One) were better for FPS's than the Dualshock. This is just personal preference/opinion 'tho.

You're probably going to want to use a keyboard and a mouse anyways, especially if you're playing versus. You don't want to be using a controller and being up against people with a mouse.

i dont play versus with anyone but friends. the online players ruin that mode.
so if i lose, its with friends.
plus, people can use a mouse all they want. im better with a controller.
mouse and keyboard handicap me.

you definitly can use a ps3 controller for pc gaming. however unlike xbox360 controllers you need to "change" how your PC reads the controller. this can be done by getting a tool known as DS3Tool. Heres a guide on how to do it http://www.gamefront.com/how-to-use-a-ps3-controller-on-a-pc/ its not hard at all, however can make the controller annoying sometimes. Like unplugging while its still connected will make it blink again and possibly turn on your ps3 when you dont want to!
