Invalid Install Path? (L4D2 Add-On Support)
Hey all. Well, first of all I searched on the net about this type of error and nothing came up...well, only one suggestion:

1 - Exit Steam
2- Create a folder <steam directory>\steamapps\Incognita
3 - Create the file <steam directory>\steamapps\Incognita\steam_appid.txt in that directory, containing only the id: 243970
4 - Create the file <steamdirectory>\steamapps\appmanifest_243970.acf, and leaving it empty.
5 - Restart Steam
6 - Install

And it fails short, doesn't work at all. The Addon Support is the only thing that fails to install.
My HDD is a WD Caviar Black 2TB HDD. Steam is installed on the D: drive (975GB's), and I tried creating a separate folder and the same error.

Any of you ever got this...not just concerning this tool, but games in general?

Did you install Steam somewhere else initially and then moved it manually?

No, actually I originally installed it on the D: drive because it had more space. C: has like 885GB's. And this is on a fresh new Windows 7 Pro 64bit copy (legit)

You shouldn't need the Addon support anyway. All the content was rolled into the base game with the L4D1 maps.

This is true. Do not install this. It is no longer needed. I have no idea while Valve leaves this out there. It confuses many.

Oh, alright...I just thought I needed to have it installed. I mean concerning custom maps and such..guess you're right. Weird that the error only happens when I try to install the Add-on support...every other program or game can be ran just fine.
