Will using characters from this game's workshop cause extra slowdown?

I was just wondering about this. Some of the resident evil 6 characters seem to somehow be both a combo of being free and very appealing. My os can just barely *PROPERLY* handle a game online, so I really don't want to flirt with disaster. If anyone has(or has not ftm) had any slowdown from using the character skins please let me know.(And yes, I am aware that these should change little else than your appearance.)

It depends upon the file size and quality of the mod. A decent survivor mod like some of those RE6 characters will probably cause performance to drop. However, this performance drop is not likely to be dramatic, but it may be noticeable. Your load-in times may suffer as well.

Mods are intended to be made in such a way that they integrate and load quickly within the game, so I suggest experimenting with a few to start. Try something simple, like a flashlight mod or a different weapon sound, and if that works without murdering your frame rate or stability, then try a survivor replacer.

I believe mods can cause lag as far as your graphics are concerned, so you should probably not try skins and etc if you're having issues in general.

Some addon maps are actually good for slow PCs, though; maps like Questionable Ethics or 2019 are indoors and have simple graphics, and so play well on low powered PCs.

Oh yeah. I learned the hard way that using skins is FAR to much for my PC to handle unfortunately. Right now, I'll be satisfied if I can get through the ENTIRE level of The Parish. (So far, i can get through if I start at the third chapter, but I'd rather just be able to play the whole thing. Also, I have to test Hard Rain and see if my OS can handle all the rain and the area with all the witches.
