Replacing music/themes of L4D2 with L4D1
I know this has been asked many times before but I dont see anything completely useful in the old threads. I want to replace all the music, from the stage musics to the stupid banjo crap when somethings happening etc, all with the more enjoyable music of the first game. Is there an in depth write-up that shows how to do this, or if better a mod that automatically does it in the steam workshop or other mod sites. I cant seem to find any but that doesnt mean it isnt there. Theres heaps out there. Thanks.

What you mean, stupid banjo crap? It's awesome and totally nails the vibe of the location.

And it's a dobro guitar, not a banjo. :)

^^ This is really good, L4D2 has the best soundtrack of any Valve game.

Wait. Con? Con, is that really you?
OH MAH GOD IT'S CHRISTMAS!

Fanboying aside, what is it you're looking to replace? The campaign-specific "horde attack" flavor music? The campaign themes themselves?

lol yes pretty much everything. Theres a bunch of fan maps I've always wanted to play in L4D2 but couldnt bring myself to do it because of the characters and the music. I'm trying to make the game less painful for myself by adding in better things. All the music int he first game was brilliant so I'd rather replace everything in the second game with that. From the ambient stage music to the attack music etc. I so want that music gone lol.

Are you con?

Anyways i think theres a mod for it.

Yes I'm Con lol. I havent been able to find any mods. I see lots of guides on how to do some of it but thats just confusing for my little brain. I guess at the very least I'll replace SOME music somehow. I've already gone and replaced a few other character models. We'll see how much I can do before the game starts crashing.

This is a sound tutorial from one of the game's greatest modders, pretending to be Coach.
This tutorial uses Audacity, but the principles apply for making sound mods in general.

Kind of a shame to replace L4D2's great soundtrack by L4D1 music.

I'm sure theres other threads where people like yourself can praise the music. I'm honestly not one of them. Its one of the main reasons I have issues even loading up this game. So I will replace as much as possible.
