Why aren't there any manuals for the PC versions for L4D 1 & 2 ?

I'm just curious, because I have the XBox version of Left 4 Dead 1, too and it has a manual. So why isn't there a manual for the PC version of the game?

You really dont need a manual. You can see all the assigned keys in the options and the game instructor will give you every annoying detail you could ever need for the first few times you play. If you need more than that you should stick to xbox.

Manuals are unnecessary nowadays, but I do miss them. They were fun to read through back in the day when effort was put into making them.

you do have 1 as you play. the little annoying as pop up, that says "melee hunter off" "shoot tongue" "bash with mouse2" "throw pokeball to catch wild pikachu"

plus all the "pros" who scream at you entire campaign, who are complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ can give good idea's before they decide to kick you because they screwed you over. XD

3. This is the internet, and you're on Steam. Looking up a guide is just a Google search away.
4. There probably is a readme.txt SOMEWHERE that nobody has ever opened, ever.

i read manual for some games before i play (if i got time before i play) to learn the buttons early.

The vast majority of PC purchasers/free recipients have digital download versions which usually don't include a manual like you might get if you bought an actual disk at a retailer (can't even remember the last time I did that). As I recall, the literature included with the retail product usually just had install instructions and maybe a brief rundown of the characters and weapons in the game and default controls/keymappings.Hands-on training is usually the preferred method.

wouldnt the edit keys area be a manual kinda? tells you the buttons XD

You wouldn't believe how many people I run into these days that still don't know to shove specials that have people pinned, I've even seen them reload while I am right next to them being killed by a hunter.

On-screen instruction are hard for them to read, imagine them actually picking a piece of paper, or opening a text file. Text. File. tl;dr for sure.

yea. i had a guy shooting at a smoker wild with a pistol. XD i was laughing so hard, i typed "dude! next time, just hit me."

yeah, someone got amazed, because when we dropped down the whole in no mercy apartments,a guy got smoked, i looked up and shot through the floor lol. saved him XD

a manual doesnt teach you that stuff XD

I always liked or still like to read them to get more background information about the characters and the story of the games.
