Joining Games Question
How does L4D2 structure the online matchmaking? At the moment I see over 6000 people playing Left 4 Dead 2, yet I can only find one game that is available to join. Clicking quick match also just puts me in to that game, or says it can't find any and makes a room for me. I appreciate any replies, thanks.

It might be your download location. afaik the stats are world wide, but you'll only get matched with people near you.

I wouldn't suggest doing that.
There's something called "Ping", Y'know.

and if you really pay attention to the question, it says "as displaying more games to join" in here nobody questioned of the ping, where there are more games to play is on USA or Europe & by common sense, yourself chooses the nearest to reduce "ping" Y'know.

1: Join game
2: Lag due to high ping
3: Get kicked/exit game
4 ???
5: Certainly not profit.

If he can only see one game being hosted to begin with, I don't think he'll be able to play elsewhere. But alright, not judging.

Also, letting him choose a different download location might slow his downloads down, so..

Pretty sure games that are full and/or are friends only don't show up.

You only see public non-full games of course ;-)
