Forest maps? Hm... Haunted Forest, Heaven Can Wait II, Dead Flag Blues has some forest parts. Can't imagine how you actually like forests, they're a nightmare to play on.
For other things- One 4 Nine has desert, Bloody Moors has moors (obv), Absolute Zero has wintery landscape.
Pangia- Silent Hill 2 does have some problems, the port on l4dmaps has poor spawning and very few L4D2 elements (magnums, melee, etc). If you like Leafo's maps you may want to try out Alien Trilogy and Silent Hill: The Otherside of Life.

Escape from valencia
Dniepr (thanks to pangia for the correction)
Daybreak
Dead before dawn
Deadly Dispatch
Goldeneye for dead
Heaven can wait
gas fever
diescraper
Dark Parish
There is only one way
suicide blitz (obv)
(note that all of these are the l4dmaps (gamemaps as of now) versions)
Bonus/P.S
My friend has a group which plays custom maps every night, so you can explore and play new custom maps. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/laggscustommaps
They're Pacific time (start at 9:30 pst), they have a teamspeak server (all the info is on the page), Very Friendly, Muzik is the one every pokes fun at. And on the ocassional 2nd game, It's usually Dark Parish.
I went through it with some tools once so I could put them in- there's actually a few things. There's 1 fire ax in one chapter I remember. Kind of sucks... I do have my own version with L4D2 weapons, couldn't fix the spawning though. It would have been great if someone like Gemini Saga had ported it, the port up there right now really is kind of bad.
What didn't you like about it? It's gone through a zillion new versions. The latest ones have custom SI, survivor, and weapon mods that are pretty neat.
As I said at 1st time Leafo is working on fixing this port, adding L4D2 pickups, fixing lighting, fog etc.
This and Symbosys are two worst custom campaigns ever.
Dniepr, not „Dneiper”, and it's updated only on Workshop.
I found it to be quite fun, It's just personal preference.
Dniepr, not „Dneiper”, and it's updated only on Workshop. [/quote]
Ill make sure to edit that, always get the spelling wrong on that. And it's updated on l4dmaps (gamemaps as of now).
As far as teh Otherside of Life... it's still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge (although not the biggest, since it's smaller than AZ or the big Half Life maps), but there's less running around, and no crashes anymore. The finale, I was told, is how the Silent Hill game actually ended? Which is justifiable. I was expecting something difficult and it was disappointing, but if that's the ending of the game it's based on it would only make sense.
Escape from Valencia isn't that bad, after ch 1 it's incredibly easy, but it's still decent. If you're handing out the worst custom awards I'd invite you to try out 2019 II, although that's cheating; it should have a score of 1, but MaddaCheeb keeps deleting reviews (mine got deleted once) and putting up fake ones. Dniepr is pretty bad though, definitely one of the worst gameplay-wise. The graphics are excellent, but not with FPS drops and ping spikes, combined with the terrible layout/planning it's kind of awful.
Symbyosys is pretty meh, but it's worth playing for bragging rights due to its difficulty.
The ping spikes are server/client wise.
In terms of the gameplay and layout, it's downright awful and i hate having to play it in my steam group. It's not optimized (I know i'm using it wrong) and it bombs my fps even on the lowest settings on low resolutions. It could be fun if you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around or exploring, but that's about it.
The ping spikes I think are a map problem- I've had trouble with that on all servers, local or dedicated. Yeah no you're correct, it's not optimized well, if at all. Being used to 200-300 fps and going down to 20 is ridiculous (first event with the gate opening? and the elevator later on are the worst spots). I don't think I've ever finished the finale, due to how god awful it is. And the spawning dead in the safe room... christ, and they spent 2 years on that map or something.
>2 years
More like 2 years of planning it out and one month of meshing it together with textures and scripts.
