Left 4 Dead 2 censored in Australia
I am sick of being kicked from multiplayer games because when an australian joins the server everyone has to use an australian censored version of the game.

What is the censored version? Isn't it no blood, and they vanish when killed?

I could do that with settings, not sure why it would force others to see it...or.. not see it

The censored version, the bodies dissappear and the blood looks so weak its like someone spitting cordial out ofthe cuts, there is no dismemberment it just sucks in general.

Isn't it client side? Like you see full packet of gore and Aussie sees only disappearing ghosts?
Venrez Jun 17, 2014 @ 4:20am
The Aus version is client side.

An Australian joining an American-hosted game will NOT cause everyone to use the Censored version. Only the Australian player will see the reduced gore.

Sucks to have the censored version, dumb government. >_< At least I'm not the one causing you to get kicked, I despise multiplayer servers unless it's made by friends.

Maybe OP has the AU version of the game?

Read what OP said.

There are some conflicting factors here.

As I said, an Aus player joining an American server will NOT cause everyone to use the Censored version.

Maybe the Server has some setting enabled that enforces consistency.

Maybe people just dont like you.

Maybe its because half the L4D community kicks people randomly for no reason anyway.

Maybe some mods you are using are causing debugloops or minidump errors with the Server and thus resulting in more weird errors.

Said mods could also be conflicting with the AUS version because some Mods have enabled gore / giblets / body bits / blood.

Well, the topic is a bit misleading. The way it is addressed implied that OP was playing the AU version.

One of my best friends is an Aussie. I play with her all the time and my game has always shown as normal.

If you look at their profile, they are from australia(not spelled right, I know)

So chances are people kicked him alot and used that as a excuse or he assumed that was the reason.

I would assume better reason to kick him, wouldn't his higher ping lag their game too?

Actually, no. Mechanics of gameplay of L4D (mostly you're killing AI-controlled enemies which can't have ping) are friendly for those which has bad internet connection as you can play it even with ping 500 without much harm. The only thing is with such high delay it's easy to shoot someone else when Survivors start to make a crowd.
And for example 2D Soldat starts to be unplayable when ping is higher than 100.
