The 1 thing that NEEDS 2 be in l4d3: BODY ARMOR
I know that there are other topics about what you'd like to see in l4d3. I know that body armor has probably been mentioned. But, I feel this is important enough that it needs to have it's own personal topic, and be mentioned again and again and again. How cool would it be to suit up your team in body armor? To have that bit extra health even on expert realism, if you've earned it by finding body armor? To not go down in just 5 hits? How awesome would it be if armor was only about as rare as any other important item, so you can get a few people wearing suits? Or a particular crescendo or finale where there is 4 armored suits so everyone can have one? I think body armor should not count as one of the 3 carry-ables because it is worn. That way you could have all 3 important items aswell. I think putting it on should be a process like deploying special rounds or healing yourself with a health kit, meaning I think it should have a status bar which needs to be filled. I think it should be able to be worn down until it eventually comes off. I think it should greatly reduce damage but not block it completely. For that matter, there could also be a helmet, but I don't think putting it on should need a status bar. Before you go saying it will make you over powered, keep in mind the l4d2 party got a LOT of new toys, special rounds, defibrilators, there will probably be some new special infected and possibly a new mini-boss or final boss to balance things out.

If really L4D3 would be made, then from typical wishlist I would like to see sawn-off shotgun as Tier Special weapon (sth like L4D1 autoshottie, but with much more damage and spread) and to make slot 4 and 5… huh, „switchable”. I mean that for example when you don't have medkit and you see pills, then you should be able to put pills in slot 4. Maybe it would prevent those idiots to eat pills when above 80 while you're limping and not fast enough to take it before that maniac.

oh yes bodyarmor and after they added this i would also like to see handcuffs because shooting zombies is so 2009. i rather chase a charger and then try to arrest him untill i find out that the cuffs dont fit on either of his wrists.

You don't even have a backpack in this game, how should you ever be able to carry more than pills, throwable and 2 weapons??

But survivors are so powerful compared to infected already...

I know it was said, I just don't fully believe this.

You didn't understand me. I meant that it would be nice if you could put in slot 4 (medkit, defib, ammo packs) also pills and adrenaline and in slot 5 (pills, adrenaline) also medkit, defib unit and ammo pack. You know, like situation: you used your medkit, still have pills and found another bottle of pills so you can pick it up and have 2 bottles, one placed in slot 4 and one placed in slot 5. Of course, we're saying everyone has their pills and this one would be just left or eaten by loser with 75-80 HP.

I don't think the game needs body armor. And I think that anyone that wants to play the game on expert with it defeats the purpose.

Oh, sorry. Great idea, btw.

Body armor seems rather frivolous to me. Sure, the concept is decent, but why would you sacrifice the mobility in a zombie apocalypse with running Infected and Tanks and Chargers that could punch through that armor with no trouble?

And as mentioned above, it rather defeats the purpose of higher difficulties and probably unbalances many things.

You mean temporary level drops? You can do that via voting :)

I'd only see its use to lessen friendly fire damage.

L4D doesnt need such an addition. It just wouldn't fit and would be an addition on no grounds other than just to add something to a new game. And that should never be a reason to add something to a game; just because.

The survivors have all the lifelines they need to survive with health kits adrenaline and pills (which is nearly the concept youre talking about). If theyre are to add something into a game that will never release at least let it be a something practical. Not just a popular concept that is used in other shooting games.

Jeez, I don't understand a lot of my detractors here. How is it going to unbalance things? Again they are more than likely going to add new specials, new common, perhaps even a new boss or mini boss, giving the enemies more, better ways to kill you. And AGAIN, the survivors in l4d2 got a lot of new, more effective toys to deal with the new special infected and other enemiy atrocities in l4d2. Need I remind you that the Magnum, melee weapons, any type of assault rifle other than an m16, adrenaline shots, explosive rounds, AND the defibrilator are all things that came about in l4d2? All of these new toys essentially make the survivors better than they were(their only detractor being the limited melee attack ability) and even with all these new toys l4d2 is STILL harder than l4d1 by a long shot, primarily because of the new special infected, the uncommons, and the walking witches. You could stand to add a whole new toy(in my opinion, several, like with l4d2) for the survivors of l4d3, and with effective new enemies it could be even harder than l4d2, body armor and all.

I see we're also at some disagreement here as to whether or not l4d would be too easy to the point of inbalance with body armor, or whether it would be a disadvantage due to the lack of mobility. My two cents on this is, I seem to recall playing counter-strike, and my character not moving all that much slower with body armor on. I highly doubt it would make you THAT much slower that it would completely outweigh the benefits of reduced damage. I think it should only make the character move as much slower as wearing armor in counter-strike, which as I recall is not a whole heck of a lot. There is no reason that they HAVE to make you move slower if you wear body armor, after all this is a video game and it doesn't have to be completely realistic, as it is not a game that is all that has been all that realistic in the past, even on realism mode there are many detractors from the "realism" of l4d. Headshots from other survivors should always be an instant kill, but they simply aren't for practical reasons. On the harder difficulties, zombies sometimes literally appear before your eyes if the game feels like you should have a harder time than you are actually having, there is no way you could rescue someone from the floor who is on a higher level than you(or behind a solid object, resucing them THROUGH the object), even if you DID jump(but it works, cuz, y'know, because l4d is a game that is entirely dictated by realism) As for the other arguement of it adding occasional unbalance for a player lucky enough to find it, I can care less if they player actually earned the suit of armor by finding it(which, like with a health kit would be no easy task on expert modes) or if the game gives you all suits of armor because it knows the crescendo event/finale is hard enough that you definitely need them. In fact, there are a couple spots in l4d2 that I think are rough enough that even a suit of kevlar wouldn't make you invincible(or overpowered for that matter) for example the crescendo event in chapter 4 of dark carnival, the bridge finale on parish, and the finale of cold stream.(Actually... a lot of cold stream for that matter.) I am actually kind of suprised they didn't add armor to l4d2 to begin with. But considering that they didn't, I highly doubt it would make you overpowered in the face of the new challenges I am sure l4d3 will offer. Oh yeah, ever notice how body armor slows down those riot zombies in The Parish? I sure didn't, because l4d has never been entirely dictated by realism.

I also don't see how it "wouldn't fit" either. The new weapons, special rounds, etc. were all very military(and thusly popular in other shooting games) and were still added in anyway, so it would seem to me that what "fits" the survivors is anything that can help them stay ALIVE.
