Mystery of the L4D2 Lagstorms
So I just recently installed L4D2 on this here MacBook of mine and, to my great surprise, it actually worked quite well, a rarity for Mac users such as myself.

However, lately, I've also been getting some pretty egregious lagstorms at seemingly random times.

At first, I paid it no heed, because I figured it could be chalked up to the fact that my college's internet kinda sucks. However, just now, I even had one of these absolutely horrible lagstorms in a SINGLE player game.

Why? Surely, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ internet shouldn't matter in single player, and I know it's not my hardware because, if it was, it'd be like this all the time, and it's not; oftentimes it runs just fine.

So, basically, my question is what the hell is going on here?

I have also experienced this. I'll have a ping of 30 - 40 for several minutes, then it will go crazy and the ping is 500+. I also got kicked from several games by the message "client timed out."
I thought it was my internet connection which has always been reliable, but maybe it's something to do with the last update they did. Did they break the game?

Put this in your console:

net_graph 1

You'll be able to more fully monitor if it's your internet (ping) or your hardware (fps).
