Looking To Form A Versus Mode Elitist Player Coalition
I just can't take this:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=275121249

or this anymore:

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=238756439

- I'm tired of the "I'm not a noob because I played this game on Xbox" excuse.

- I'm tired of teaming with incompetant players that get wrecked at the beginning of every level.

- I'm tired of not being able to finish a full game because noobs rage quit at the first level.

- I'm tired of players that rage quit when they are winning the game.

- I'm tired of noobs, who out of the fear of being kicked, will not kick other players who suck.

- I'm tired of players that shove more zombies than they kill.

- I'm tired of players with tunnel vision that fail to save teammates that *just* saved them.

- I'm tired of players that don't communicate at all.

- I'm tired of players who do not follow the instructions of more experienced players

- I'm tired of players who agree to a specific game strategy then immediately depart from it at the start of the game.

Overall, I am tired of the unnecessary noobitry that goes on in this game and am looking to team with experienced players who are ready to end the utter unnecessary nonsense that goes on in this game.

Quite simply: play ProMod. It will humble you pretty quickly and you will get your quality matches.

You need 2 teams. Otherwise be prepared to face persistent rage.

Had two griefers the other day who opened themselves up with that. They claimed they played the game on the xbox, I looked at their massive FF stats, and instant kick/ban.

It would be awful nice if there was a way to filter out noobs, maybe some server plugin somewhere that could auto block low-hour players.

I know, right? It probably wouldn't help against people with private profiles, but it would help a little by filtering out some. I've looked, but there doesn't seem to be anything up on Allied Modders at the moment, or maybe the searches aren't showing up the right thing.

Ideally that kind of mod would hopefully work with other things besides an hour minimum, like maybe requiring a percentage of the achivements reached to ensure they've completed at least the basic maps. A minimum number of games played would be nice, too; maybe 50 campaign games for you versus people, 150 over here or somethnig. You guys might like a minimum win/loss ration like 35/65 or 50/50 or something I don't know, we would probably benefit by having a maximum average FF damage like 200 to keep out TKers.

Forming groups is cool and all, but they don't guarantee much, especially since the vast majority of people don't know about joining games from the Steam group server list. Our group is one of or is the biggest this side of the globe in terms of groups for this game mode that have servers, but at 89 people it helps us so little. A larger friends list helps too, but only so much. Public games are inevitable, some filter is necessary unless you want to alt-tab the second someone joins to go creep on their profile and see if you should kick them, and then hope they don't run around ♥♥♥♥♥ing about it and cause drama.

Auto-banning too maybe, 1 week bans or something to hope they learn a bit more first.

Okay done complaining now

I had started one that would block players with a steam_id higher(newer) than whatever specified back after the christmas giveaway/sale. Never actually tested it though because it is abit of a ♥♥♥♥ move regardless.

But yeah, if you hate anyone thats skill level isn't equal to your 1400hr abilities then head to promod. There are alot of people like that there.

I'm downloading Pro-mod as we speak.

Agreed. And then people wonder why they get kicked from a game. One of the weirdest things is when players leave from a winning team because of a few faults or possibly the opposite team gains a bit of momentum. Instead of sticking with it until the end. They act as if they've played nothing but one sided games in which I would think the point of a VS is the competition.

There already is a plug-in that will kick people with low hours from the server.

And yes, could always check out Promod. If you have any questions about how to set up your server feel free to post on L4DNation.com (the site may take 20 seconds to load, been doing maintanence on it, just leave the tab open and it will load).

DONT PLAY PUB VERSUS. If you do, you cant complain period. Get a friends list going and join steam groups or promod like people say. There are casuals and there are elites (IE people who probably play too much). The former are probably the majority. In the end remember it is JUST a game. It doesn't mean anything. Unnecessary nonsense? How do you define Unnecessary? It shouldn't happen cuz people should know.? LOL

Look, this game shouldn't be competitive. It's for FUN, if you don't like it play on campaign or something, or make a friends list and go on a private game. Now don't look at my hours and just "dismiss" me as a noob, because I HAVE played Xbox for a ♥♥♥♥in' LONG time, and I know my ♥♥♥♥. I don't even play versus anyway, I'm in the midst of completing every single campaign first.

And plus, I've met complete and utter ♥♥♥♥♥ who had 1000+ hours who were just bunnyhopping across the map. You people probably think your better then newer players - yes you are by default, but stop thinking your the god-forbid kings of the world. Because you're not.

I just got an idea. If you guys are elitists and pro's, why don't you at-least help new players a bit? I need a bit of help for campaign. Maybe then you could stop whining like a baby.

Sorry, but you cannot expect no new players to join along (and possibly on Versus), because they don't know what they're in for, right? So why don't you guys "mentor" them? They should have that in, so like TF2 there was a "mentor" button which seeks out players with over 200 hours to help out players below 200 hours.

Sorry for my rant, but you guys annoy the freakin' hell out of me with the SAME threads over and over again. As if you want to get your point across for attention.

So games that I just showed you where teams are getting wrecked 3,000 to 98 is your definition of fun? What you're really saying is that you suck at the game and are unwilling to admit it so you just use the excuse that "I'm just trying to have fun" as an excuse to suck and ruin games that inevitably end up in servers being shut down because of the mass rage quitting. And where did you get the idea that I don't try to help noobs? I do try to help new players the problem is that they *refuse* to listen to more experienced players. To give an example, on the finale level of dead center I will often tell new players the order of floors in which to get the gas cans, because depending on how the cans spawn you can get all 13 cans before the tank spawns. 99% of the time when I tell new players to go to floor x they go to floor y and vice versa. I tell them to always stick with their team and they split up. I tell them not to go over the door in the 3rd level of dead center because they will get stuck in the hallway with a Tank that will kill them and they go in the hallway and get killed then say "I didn't know". The problem isn't with the elitist players, the elitist players have paid their dues and act the way they do for a reason. The problem is with 2.7 hour, 4.99 steam sale noobs who refuse to learn the game and heed the advice of more experienced players, thus ruining the game. Period.
