Are Magnums for Noobs?
I recommend them for players new to the game so that they can get familiar with other weapons and strategies the more they play, but some pretentious people think that people who play Expert Realism shouldn't use the Magnum; In my opinion, if someone is an ER reg. and relies on the Mag to the point that it becomes a crutch and they can't adapt and verbally state that they need it, even with a great primary, sure; it seems one-dimensional. But if the person can switch around between secondary weapons, and has killer aim with the Mag, I'm all for it. What's usually the alternative for people who are against using the Mag on ER? A katana right? Or they crave something else like the Machete. What then, shall we say that those are weapons for noobs? Absolutely not.

Aye lizzin', wut ya'll think 'bout dem pretenshimizin' people bein' all againz da mag? Holla atcha boi, I'm juzst a black mayne, uh ordinary black mayne...

The Magnum is better than the dual-pistols in every way.

However, think of it like this.

A Magnum is much more useful to assist your team and eliminate any Common Infected still attacking if you are downed. The Magnum provides decent firepower even if you are completely out of primary ammo and the Magnum itself never runs out of ammo, reloads quickly and kills Common Infected with one shot. However if you are swarmed in close quarters then you need to rely on a few shoves and then hoping you kill the majority of the Infected with either your primary or the Magnum, since reloading leaves you vulnerable and you can only shove so much before the "shove-reload" timer appears.

A melee weapon would help you more whilst you are still standing, able to cleave through groups of Common Infected or kill SI in just a few swings. However, you're at a loss if you run out of primary ammo or if you are downed.

I would rather have duallies than a magnum. Magnum is useful for realism maybe. But pistols are better for taking out a horde if you know how to use them.

Kinda surprising coming from a pretentious, fast-quitting, mediocre player like her (: Quote me on that.

Couldn't have articulated it better myself.

It's good to see you dealing with this morning's situation in a mature fashion, Bunny.

I've had my fellow expert realism players repeatedly question why I have you on my list, due to numerous reports of teamkilling, griefing, and generally poor sportsmanship, and I've also had several requests for the same reasons to ban you from our servers.

In general, I've ignored those requests, as you seem to be a decent player, and I've only seen you teamkill maybe 1 or 2 or 5 times. I did give a temporary ban to satisfy one of our admins who was angry that you've teamkilled him and his friends.

I have demo recordings of your behavior, and I have had the misfortune to see this happen. You rush at the expense of the other players, teamkill if you feel like it, verbally abuse your friends and teammates. It's a shame that you're potentially a competent player, but instead resort to griefing.

It's also a shame that your friend is also a competent player, but through whatever manipulative tactics you use on them, instead follows you around and obeys your whims.

In the future, to avoid other blocks and bans:

1. Stop teamkilling

2. Uninstall/go hug your mom/still crying

Demeaning the usage of one variable and praising the use of other variables makes as much as sense as saying only X variation can be legitimate while other forms are somehow not. Those standards are usually arbitrary and often rely upon a narrow promulgation of preferential performance.

I've seen a few players claim that certain weaponry equates a loss of genuine skill or requires a necessary inferior position of aptitude, such as prioritizing the shotgun [which is surprising because one would think that a mechanic that allows for great CC would be praised, but I digress]. It doesn't really make sense, other than "you are doing something I dislike and therefore I shall call you bad."

In the same vein, it makes as much sense as people who praise one mode of a game and dislike other modes. You meet a lot of "vanilla-only players" who think that the company-promoted version of expert realism is really challenging or is the purest form of the game available, but who dismiss communitarian modifications in the next breath. It is virtually contradictory to heap claims of superiority to a specific mutated version and proclaim that other versions are sub-par.

But such is life. Confliction is everywhere.
Magnums=noobs
Pistols=noobs
Shotguns=noobs
AR's=noobs
Snipers=noobs
Melee's=noobs
So if every weapon in the game are for noobs what is left?

Oh i know holding a pipe or molly in your hand and punching the CI,SI,Witches and Tanks with your fist = hardcore gamer and non noob.

If you're under the impression that this post is dedicated to you, it isn't. Your name was dropped so I gave my opinion. The reason I shot you this morning is because you shot me about 3 weeks to a month ago in the Dead Air campaign; if you did so because I got to the saferoom from start to finish, alone, 10mins. ahead of everyone else, It's silly, especially since I left you in the hands of one of my trusted friends. If you griefed me like you accuse me of doing to others, don't think I won't get you back, and I did, jokingly, and because I was about to leave so you could just switch to one of the other characters. However, you used profanity to insult the team and deleted me, looks like you were the one sour and immature.

If you wonder why people like to play with me, it's because I kill people that compromise, threaten and are a liability to the team. I do what they want, and when I decide to kick them after griefing, everyone votes with me and finds it justified, even funny. It's impossible that you've seen me team kill that many times, since you instantly quit when things don't go your way, you're the loud abusive one; which is different than me fighting fire with fire and teasing my friends.

Which friend are you talking about? You mean Nautical or Stephano? If you're referring to Nautical, he's free to delete me, he even team kills in my presence. Block me from whatever laggy server you want, and have those friends and people block me as well.

"Potentially competent," I'm Alexander the Great compared to you, who prides herself on beating this and that camp with only two people; I can beat any camp with only the bots. The reason I rush ahead, is because that's the only thing left to do when the other three can't pull their weight even with extensive communication. You talk about maturity but look at the way you end your vitriolic response; the only maturity you bring to the table is through suggestive pictures of yourself that you use as avatars.

The reason your pals hate me, is because I refuse to restart levels when things go wrong, don't baby them and waste all of the team's health solely on them, and certainly don't take orders from them when they're dead and I barely have a scratch on me. If you want footage of me team killing, I have 50 videos if that, I'll send them to you, you'll see the justification in them. -King of the Wasteland
