constant unexplained crashing/closing/black screen
Sometimes l4d2 "stops working unexpectedly", other times it just closes without explanation, and then it stops responding and i have to open task manager to close l4d (theres also a little black box in the top left corner of my screen). I don't think it's due to my specs, I haven't got a gaming computer but my computer has the required specs. I've been having this problem for a long time now. I've tried every solution (I've seen) on the forums so far, nothing has cured it. Adding -lv to the launch options seemed to make the closing less frequent, and recently everytime my Rochelle character gets jumped by a jockey it immediately closes, or sometimes when im helping up other players (possible vpk problem) but I don't think that should be happening, it is in the workshop and all, but even when I had removed all addons (completely removed/unsubscribed) the problem stayed. I haven't really got any conflicting VPKs but my maps have conflicting files (these ones are allegedly supposed to conflict as they are for the same campaign) not sure if that could be contributing to it, but it probably isn't. I'm not a tech wizz so if anything I explained didn't make sense or needs a bit more of a description, feel free to call me out on it.

things I have done so far to try and solve the problem:
-Check for registry issues

- add -lv to launch options (the problem seemed to subside as previously stated, but it still remained)

- verified integrity of game cache (ive done this many times, and i always seem to be missing 1 file but im not sure which one might be)

-reinstalled/refreshed windows

-disabled multicore rendering

-set video settings to lowest possible

-removed all addons

also checked for driver updates and mine are all up to date, i might have forgotten something because I have left it for a while, but just recently it's becoming impossible to keep the game open for more than 10 minutes.

specs:
windows 8
i3-3217U CPU @ 1.80Ghz (x2?)
RAM: 6.00GB (5.88 usable)
64-bit OS, x64 based processor

I would.
Relocate or unsubscribe all mods.
Delete local content.
Manually delete the L4D2 directory (important).
Start Steam
Reinstall L4D2
Play game

I apologize for the late reply but I've already tried that.
Thanks, though.

I haven't, actually. I shall try it. But one question, what exactly does that do?
