Suddenly I'm denied access to the workshop.
I can play in online matches, but whenever I try and load up the workshop I get the following error:

"Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/browse?" on this server.
Reference #18.137303c7.1405648312.b82270f"

Any ideas? Could this be an issue with the steam server?

People just don't understand. When Steam updates, you must restart Steam otherwise you may have problems.

It's because the amount of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥s about L4D3 have blocked access because Valve feels we don't deserve it anymore.
