I think when people submit their mods, they add tags to their items whether or not it's relevant for the item(s) you're looking for.

It's not just custom campaings, it's almost the same with every thing you search, no matter how much you filter you always end up with a bunch of stuff you never wanted. Or nothing at all.

I've got probably a dozen custom campaigns on mine and literally none have anything other than maps. Clearly the Workshop is just out to get you.

Workshop in a nutshell: Sucks!

The workshop is fine, could be filtered better, but you can't change what people choose to tag their mods with.

If you want custom campaigns, I suggest using http://www.gamemaps.com/l4d2/ as they have a much more organized way of sorting out maps and specifying exactly what you're looking for.

The problem I have with the workshop is when the campaign gets broken into multiple parts. I have the worst luck with them not working. There was one update half a year ago, that makes multi-part workshop items incompatible with its own parts. I end up just downloading them from L4Dmaps. I use the Workshop for skins/sounds/anything that is only 1 part.

Which is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. When I'm looking for some new sounds or maps I don't want to ♥♥♥♥ing download some pony ♥♥♥♥ to replace my characters. I WANT MAPS.

If you want accuracy in mod categorization, you will not find it on the Workshop. At least not with major change. You will only get that from manual download sites such as GameMaps and Gamebanana.
If you don't want to deal with manual sites, well, that's your problem, you know what you're getting into witht he Workshop, stop complaining.

All I care about is HD/HQ stuff, fixes and realistic stuff. Try finding those nowadays.
