Was buying this game now stupid?
I recently bought this game and I liked almost every mode. The game is also really good. However, in every damn multiplayer it is like a gamble. I am new so I obviously don't know much but if someone beter happens to play at the time, I am kicked. How the hell am I supposed to learn this way? Let's say it is easy as survivor but what about an infected?

EDIT: Yup, another kick, didn't even take 2 minutes.

You just need to find cool people to play with that understand you are new to the game and are willing to put up with you while you learn.

Yeah, there are people who won't accept new players. It's kinda sad really :c

Are you playing campaign or versus?

I played 2 campaigns and the people there were cool, but versus was another story. Played 4 times, got kicked 2. I guess versus is where everyone is being a jerk.

Yeah I tend to stay away from versus, I just don't enjoy it that much plus it is much easier to run into trolling jerks there.

I guess I will do so as well. Besides, Campaign looks much better

Yeah it does you're right. Feel free to add me if you'd like.

I'd recommend staying clear of versus until you're more familiar with the game, and even then, versus with random people will likely result in unsavory encounters. If you want to practice as infected without the risk of being kicked, there are mods you can download that allow you to play as infected against AI survivors, and training maps designed specifically for special infected.

I suggest you get some friends to play this with if you're interested in Versus. :starite:

If you let people know that you're new to the game when joining; either you get kicked right away or you stay the entire game because you showed you're willing to communicate. It's nothing personal.

^ They have a point. I would just announce that you're new and trying to learn at the very start. That way if you get kicked it happens right away and if you don't you know you'll have a decent experience with people who accept you.

Try joining a steam group.

If you feel you must play versus, try the 10v 10 servers but look for ones that have few mods. The ratio of asshats is less than 8 player servers.
