About friendly fire
Since I've been a newbie I've always been practicing avoiding shooting mates. Countering my "Spycheck!" instinct and paranoia during kill zones, running to a certain position so no one's in my line of fire, or jumping over someone's machine gun bullet trail (probably a bad idea on my part). I also see my counter very peculiar on the results credits at the end of the campaign.

Either every bullet from a shotgun counts as 1 incident, people keep running in front of me (could be wrong), or my count goes up if I happen to be on the recieving end. Is any of this true? Next to be last on the least damage recieved, I wanna prep myself for expert.

Aim before firing.

Play on advanced difficulty.

When your ff stats per game come in single digits, you're ready for EC or ER.
Friendly fire stats only count for when you shoot someone on your team.

If you're a shotgun user, be careful with your spread, and try to keep allies in only the bare edges of the crosshair, if at all. It might be wise to carry pistols or a Magnum to more accurately pick off Commons swarming your teammates without risk of friendly fire.

Yes, it would make sense that each pellet from a shotgun shell which hits a teammate counts as an FF incident.
There are times where I FF on Normal because someone ran into my view during an attack.
