Is it actually possible to improve 'Quick Match" with... ???
I enjoy playing L4D2 online multiplayer with random groups from time to time but I am extremely annoyed by latency - even lag above 50ms makes a noticeable difference in the quality of gameplay to someone like me who's been playing videogames for over 20 years but is currently forced to use a Wi-Fi connection (yeah I know, I know, wireless = not ideal, but stay with me here...) I notice that Quick Match is highly inconsistent - sometimes I get a great host connection, and sometimes terrible. There is no real discernable pattern to it from what I can glean. So is it possible for me to go into the game files somehow and modify a script value so that I can change the quick match algorithm to prefer to give me a host with a very low ping for me the vast majority of the time I try to join a quick match? (I have already gone into the Steam settings and manually changed my location under "Download Region," if that even makes a difference). Even on a wireless connection as I am it is very possible for me to get as low as 20ms with a stable host, and I don't seem to have lag issues in most other games regardless so I know for a fact that it is not my local network's problem. Thanks for the help in advance!

I.M.O Valve should just completely remove that option. I mean come on ! Is it really that time consuming to find a game through the online search?

Thanks for the info! It was kind of depressing to see how few games are being played on open official public US servers nowadays though! Guess most of the lingering action is on private servers... but of course by now most people have probably moved onto other games. unfortunate but understandable
