Double SI?
In a regular non-modded, public, co-op campaign one of my teammates got constricted by a Smoker. I was able to shoot the tounge and free him, but he was immediately constricted again by a second Smoker. I've never seen two of the same type of SI spawned at the same time before. Is this a bug, or just a very rare occurrance? I always thought there were 4 SI, all different types that would spawn and never two of the same type at once. And it was definitely two seperate Smokers, and not the same one.

Rare occurances on most campaign maps. The only times I have seen SI spawn multiple of the same & rate is The Passing finale. Give this a try. After the 2 Tank fight, watch for the SI's. They might come out more often, in more numbers, & same SI at the same time. I think ( not 100% sure ) the game intentionally becomes more harder to pick up the pace in collecting the gas cans.

It's possible for there to occasionally be two hunters or two smokers. If you were to print their names, instead of Hunter or Smoker it would be (1)Hunter or (1)Smoker. You run into this issue if you try to sm_slay one of them while there are two of them. It's not common, but it happens, and you don't normally notice because they aren't all back to back.

None of the other SI will double spawn like that AFAIK unless it's like Hard Eight/Special Delivery type mutation

I've only seen this happen once. I play mostly campaign too. I wouldn't say it happens all the time. :P

Do you know what the probability of a double spawned SI is?

No clue. The cvars don't suggest it's possible, since they say hunter limit and smoker limit default to 1. But if you think about it, it's basically a L4D1 style set of four zombies; L4D1 would always dupe a hunter or smoker, but never a boomer.

Those cvars works only for humans..

On coop, the director can spawn several infecteds from any kind (except tank) some times more than 4, and some times more than 1 of a kind (happens more on l4d1 maps)
You can have 2 witches on a normal map
