Linux version?
Hello!

I wanted to ask whether a Linux version of this game was planned. It would be great to have and I'm sure a lot of people would appreciate it. :)

We do have a linux build of the game but it's untested and we're unable to support it, so it hasn't been released yet. We're hoping to deploy it later - although from our reports there have been 4 installations already :-o

So, does that mean the Linux version is currently available in a beta branch, since some people were able to install it on Linux?

We don't currently have a Linux beta branch that we're aware of, so we're not quite sure what those 4 installations represent.

Perhaps the madness is more infectious than we originally thought...
The Linux gaming community is (necessarily) fairly used to a bit of DIY support, and to contributing to software development by testing things, so if you've got something testable, even if you're not sure it's up to the standards of the other two platforms, it would be good to get it out there in some form if possible.
Dunno about beta branch, but you do have Linux depots according to steamdb: https://steamdb.info/app/545540/depots/

The game seems like something I'd dig so I hope it arrives on Linux eventually. :-)

Oh, that's great news! I'm looking forward to it, thank you for working on a Linux build ;)
I see the Linux option available. Thank you guys so much for thinking about us Linux folks! Now make some more games so I can give you more money! P.S. Any chance you can convince the Contradiction folks to go Linux too? :D

Whoops! That Linux version is early stage testing at the moment, but feel free to have a look if it's installable for you :-o
Ubuntu 16.04 here. It looks like your timodd executable is based on chromium so I used chromium's logging parameter to see the error:

This seems to be a known issue with asar and comes up when it's trying to call a local library when it doesn't exist. I copied the 64-bit version of libsteam_api.so to the root Dekker folder, re-ran timodd and then got this error:

[26816:0612/150510:INFO:CONSOLE(158)] "Uncaught Error: /home/osboxes/Desktop/ElectronElinLatest/node_modules/greenworks/deps/steamworks_sdk/public/steam/lib/linux64/libsdkencryptedappticket.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory", source: ELECTRON_ASAR.js (158)

I then created a /home/osboxes/Desktop/ElectronElinLatest folder and a symbolic link that points to the dekker node_modules folder to and then got this error:

[S_API FAIL] SteamAPI_Init() failed; no appID found.
Either launch the game from Steam, or put the file steam_appid.txt containing the correct appID in your game folder.

I then created a steam_appid.txt file with the app id (545540) into it and boo-yah, I gots me some Dekker!

The Steam library is there, but the paths need to get tweaked so that the libraries get included and you need to have that steam_appid.txt file too. I looked for any text files that had the /home/osboxes/Desktop/ElectronElinLatest/ path and couldn't find any so it must be in a make file or something.

UPDATE: It looks like I spoke too soon. I started a new game and I was able to talk to Bryce and Ellin but every time I start talking to Marianna, there is no video and then i'm not able to mouse-click anything or escape back to the main menu. I couldn't see any related errors

I believe it's probably the home directory of the build script. If you're launching from Steam, you shouldn't need that steam_appid.txt file. Allegedly.

That's very generous of you. We may well do that. We haven't had much time to work on it, tbh, with the recent releases.

Re: Marianna -- could you take a quick look in resources/app/data/video and see how many videos there are? There's a decent possibility that you may only have the videos from the Beta, in that build.
