[SPOILERS] So what exactly was Emma trying to achieve?
I mean she claims to "guide our protagonist" but all she does is LIE throughout the damn game about who she is, what she is and what's up with her damn cat!

I'm honestly not sure how they contributed to actually helping with what they claimed to be doing, namely awaken Valimar. Only vague thing I can recall is making Elise follow the damn cat SOMEHOW and making the door react to her because it sure didn't react to Rean for some reason?

Any ideas? Does Emma do anything useful that helps our cause? Because she just seems like a pathological liar at this point.

Emma's a liar in the same way Millium's a sexy bombshell. She'd like to be, but she's comically sucky at it and eventually the rest of the class is simply rolling their eyes at it.

Keeping an eye on Valimar's sealing place and guiding any Awakener who may arrive is a large part of it. That's essentially why she was sent to Thors. As for who she is, one of the Folklore books in the library gives a hint, which is why she doesn't come out and talk about it.

As for the incident with the door, that was all Celine, who was getting impatient. Emma chewed her out over it later on.

Cold Steel 2 comes straight out and tells you somewhat of what her deal is in the first few minutes of the game. That said, the full story's left for CS3.

@Erpy: I don't think the OP is asking abot who Emma is, but simply what she's trying to do in CS1.

I always got the feeling that she was there as a fail-safe mechanism. Her role is to assist Rean as much as possible without giving away her identity (which of course she does in every way without outright saying it directly). Her main contribution of course comes at the end, when she's a compulsory party member for the whole final dungeon.

Also, a bit of a speculation - we still don't know what exactly caused the whole Awakener test to start. Although CS2 hints at it being somewhat automatic, probably set to run after a certain amount of time, it could have also been started by Emma. Or she may have been there just to ensure that it starts and runs properly.

It's also important to note that Emma is still a member of Class VII in the one important aspect - she's an inexperienced youth trying to find her role in the world. So she makes mistakes, a lot of mistakes, like everybody else in the class.

I wish I can murder that cat. Or at least manually kick her out of my robot. It's pointless to have her if she's not gonna tell anything. And it's not like she's helping me with piloting.

You mean you don't appreciate her helpful "This is bad!" and "Keep going! Just a little more!"?

You dissappoint me, Sir
She is a pokemon trainer that wants Rean's special pokeball collection of rarest pokemons that even he doesn't know about.
aka the lamest character in Kiseki series that was made because authors shoehorned all bunch of random stuff and needed their final plot machine character to connect them together... somehow.

You get to kick her out in CS2 (not manually) . She's not happy about it. Apparently cats can hold grudges.

Grudges again? This is like Alisa 2 and we hate her too

We do? Celine is actually the true tsundere of the series.
