Game breaks resolution?

i have only one resolution option, 1280x720. Although my monitor is 1280x1024

When i play this game in full screen it looks fine with the black bars at top and bottom, but the only way i can find to quit is alt+F4, and when i do that my resolution does not reset back to normal

is there a clean way to quit the game? is this a bug?

You can exit via the in-game main menu.

Which version of the game do you have and where did you get it from?

The fact that you don't see an exit button in the main menu most probably means that you are using version 1.0 and maybe pirated.
