Known Issues, Workarounds & Status
Hello,

sadly, it's very difficult to release a PC game without any issues on all configurations, especially if you try to optimize the rendering and add many new features at the same time. This thread gathers known issues still present in the current version of the game and provides a set of workarounds, if available.

Crashes on startup/when the game is trying to play a video
Problem:
When the game is trying to play a video (or on startup if the "skip intro" and "skip logos" options are not set) the game crashes.
Workaround / Solution:
This appears to be caused by some third party playback packages/filters/codecs, and can be solved in multiple ways:
  • By uninstalling these codecs. We have reports of it being fixed by uninstalling FFDshow. Also look for anything you have installed which mentions a "codec".
  • If all of this fails, you can also select the "skip all movies" option in the launcher as a final workaround. This only affects movies, not normal cutscenes, and there are in fact very few movies in the game, most just showing your progress on the map when travelling.
Status:
Since it is caused by third-party software, it's difficult to reproduce and debug this issue. We have not yet managed to reproduce it.

HBAO+ causes some artifacts in a few scenes
Problem:
There are a few scenes in the game where HBAO+ causes some unsightly artifacts. This includes especially scenes with a lot of fog, and closeups of character faces.
Workaround:
Disable HBAO+ for these scenes.
Status:
We have worked out an approach for resolving these issues, but the implementation will be delayed until more pressing bugs are addressed.

Crashes during gameplay on some systems with AMD GPUs
Problem:
For some AMD users, the game and/or the GPU driver crashes sporadically during gameplay. Particularly if MSAA 8x or 4x is enabled.
Workaround:
Different people have reported being able to resolve or mitigate this issue in the following ways:
  • By upgrading their GPU drivers.
  • By reducing the "MSAA" setting to 2x or none.
  • By not overclocking their system GPU or CPU.
Status:
We have not yet been able to reproduce this issue on any of our testing systems. We are considering creating a special debug build to distribute in a branch which provides more information to us upon a crash.

I posted this in the other known issues thread, but I'll post it here too.

-In the menus, when you in a shop or other menu where you can select the number of items you want to sell/buy/whatever, the arrows are partially hidden by the window behind them.

-Some people are having issues with the left stick on their controller. Whenever you try to move the stick to one of the "corners", the character slows to a walk. This seems to happen more often when turning to the left than turning to the right. I've seen it reported with Xbox One and 360 controllers and DualShock 4s.

-Some of the voice acting doesn't match the text. I know there's a couple of lines in Chapter 1 that do this, but I turned off the voice acting and I've been reading since then so I don't know if it occurs any further in the game.

This is probably due to the PS3 controller's input zone. It is a square, whereas the PS4 and Xbox controllers use a circle. So the PS3 controller actually registers more distance when tilted to the "corners" than the others. Since the game is a PS3 port, it probably still expects the input values of the PS3 controller. I use DS4Windows for my PS4 controller with the sensibility turned up a little and have no problems with this.

While I'm at it, might as well bring up some minor issues, don't know if they are known yet. The text leaves the text boxes in some bonding events.
And when examining the camera in Rean's room it still talks about the PlayStation3's screenshot feature.

Can't run the game myself at all. I keep getting this error when running from the launcher:

My graphic card is GTX770M
Any suggestion on how to fix this? :(

@Indigo:
For the item selection, that is apparently how the arrow symbols are supposed to look. (As in, they look exactly like that in the original data files. I also thought it was a bug at first.
About the controller, I'm testing primarily with a Xbox One controller and with a DS3, and I can't reproduce this issue with either one. I'll still try to get it resolved for the next build.

@Banane:
Yes, the text wrapping issues during a few bonding events are known and being worked on.

Configuration UI bug
Sen1Lanucher on windows 10 HiDPI,I can't see some check boxes...

If anyone has an issue similar to what was reported by @AlphaSixNine, then try manually installing the VC2010 redistributable: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

Steam should install it before it launches the game, but clearly it fails sometimes.

@peaceshi can you post a screenshot? Also, what is your DPI setting?
Game crashes sometimes in the end of the battle. My GPU is not AMD, it's not related to video - they are playing fine. MSAA is 2x.

Using a DS3 does seem to fix this issue for me. There might be something to your observation regarding the input zones. Hopefully, Durante looks into it.
Just FYI Unintalling the FFDShow Codex does not fix anything. Still have to use the work around to get the game to load.

Edit: I would add removing the Divix Codec to your list because that worked for me.

I still can't select my native display reslution (1920x1200) in the config tool. Only lets me choose 1920x1080.

Hello flash track 2 of the legend of heroes is already in the transplant development?
Sometimes my game pauses for a few seconds, and alt+tabbing back into it seems to fix it, but then the game becomes completely silent and the sound effects that accompany various actions get delayed and play some time after executing the actions.

GPU: GTX 1050 Ti
CPU i5 650

I have MSAA at 8x and HBAO on, as well as unlimited draw distance, AF and High quality DoF.
Aznhmg Aug 5 @ 9:39am
My screen freezes when my camera collides with a wall/building on MSAA 8x and 4x. Its fine on 2x though.

GPU:MSI R9 390
CPU:i7 4790k
