Guts & Glory Championship
Hello everyone, i'm making a series of maps to determine the best Guts & Glory players for each class.

I've just finished the Class A version of the GGC map, which you can download here:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=875115763

More classes will be available soon, but for now, we will focus on the Class A. I will host a Leaderboard in this thread with the best times. To have your time registered, post here with a screenshot proving that you beat the map. Only the top 5 participants can get their time presented in the leaderboards.

As the host and creator of the GGC maps, I will not participate, but everyone else is welcome to join and try to beat the very best. Good luck everyone!

Scroll down to view the leaderboards and map downloads

GGC map downloads and info

*All my maps are fully tested, meaning that it's possible to reach the final checkpoint without dying, respawning or using boost.

*Each map is subject to change, but only visual aspects that don't allow an unfair disadvantage for participants who completed the map before an update.

This is the first map of the GGC series. Featuring a variety of hazards and sharp turns in a single compact area, this map proves to be a worthy challenge to those who want to be the best in the Class A leaderboards. This map also features an area where the participant can choose one of two paths, will you take the long but safe path or will you take the short but dangerous one?

A very well crafted map, and incredibly challenging. I had to give up at the tunnel part, with the green and red arrows. I just couldn't get past that. If I did manage to get to the checkpoint I fell off.

You might consider making that marker a respawn point.

Thanks for the feedback!

The area where you're stuck has two paths: a longer but safe route (green arrow) and a shorter but dangerous route (red arrow). I suggest you try to go through the path on the left, it's a bit hard to climb at first but with some practice it becomes a great route.

I was thinking about making that a safe checkpoint, but I thought it was too close to the previous one. After you go inside the container and jump to the top, you'll have a safe checkpoint, it's close and easy to obtain even if you botch the jump.

Thanks for the tips. Just curious because I assumed that branching paths wasn't really possible with checkpoints. I thought the green arrow was trying to trick me. Both paths lead to that same checkpoint after the mines? Or can we have multiple checkpoint number 5s?

Yes, you will have to climb the wooden planks on the left and then you'll see a larger one below, at the end of the planks, pointing directly to the checkpoint. Branching is possible when both paths lead to the same checkpoint, which is what was achieved in this map.

I made it so both paths have their own advantages and disadvantages. The fastest route is still the most dangerous one, but sometimes it's best to sacrifice some time just to get past that danger (mostly for the sake of patience), that's why the green route was included. Some people are actually faster when taking the longer route when they hesitate too much when dealing with the danger. I managed to master the dangerous route because I made the pattern myself (one reason why i'm not participating in the GGC) and I can go really fast when going through it.

When I get the game, i'll likely participate, seems like a good idea.

Very good! I am sure to take part. As a beta tester that has been testing and playing since December 2016, im happy to play it :D

Glad I can count on you two to join.

The GGC needs some participants, nobody submited their time yet.

ATTENTION:

Due to a glitch with the game, the first workshop item for the map can no longer be supported and remains with some bugs. I had to create another workshop item for the same map and it features bug fixes and slightly improved playability

I've updated the posts with the new version, it's suggested that those with the old one uninstall it and download the latest item.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

I will try and complete it but as people say, it is very challenging

If nobody has posted their times yet, I'll be the first to. 1:38 is a lot slower than the author! This level was fantastic! Also, thanks for updating the beginning! I couldn't beat it before at all, and this time I got it second try. And how do you post a screenshot?

Thanks for participating!

Can you also post the milliseconds and a screenshot to prove please?
