Regarding 21:9 support, yes, partially. The game renders in 21:9 (if you're using FAR) but the interface, menus, and movies are scaled from 16:9. I don't think there's any fix to the interface (I believe the FAR creator investigated it for a while but ran into issues implementing a fix for it), but you can at least get the cutscenes to run in pillarboxed 16:9 using Vidsquish (reencodes the movies).
The game is capped to 60 FPS and I don't recommend removing the cap (possible using FAR) as that is prone to introduce physics, scripting, etc sync issues. It supports G-Sync fine, so I imagine it supports Freesync just as well when running at 60 FPS.
Vidsquish can be found here:

The game is playable and there are workarounds to make it better, not unusual for the pc player. But I think the game is still a bit expensive for the flaws it has, so I will wait for a more favorable sale.
Other platinum games were fixed on pc, I guess Square is the one to blame.
