Hello Hunters,

For the launch of theHunter: Call of the Wild today we have created a list of FAQs that we hope will be helpful to you and answer a lot of your questions.

General & Gameplay

Is the game only going to be available on PC, or other platforms as well?

We’ve announced theHunter: Call of the Wild as a PC release for Steam. If the platform selection should be expanded at a future point we will make sure to inform our players via Facebook, Twitter & Steam.


Will my progress and content be moved over from theHunter: Classic into theHunter: Call of the Wild?

theHunter: Call of the Wild is a full stand-alone title and there will be no carry over of items, currency or statistics from theHunter: Classic. However, we offer players of both games a limited time promotion for exclusive items in both games ongoing until May 16, 2017. You can find more information about this here.


Will there be in-game currency like in theHunter Classic?

theHunter: Call of the Wild is a one-time purchase without micro transactions. We do have a currency in theHunter: Call of the Wild which is completely in-game and has no correlation to real-life cash. When talking about “a one-time purchase”, we also think it’s important to point out that we are committed to supporting theHunter: Call of the Wild and will add content in the form of optional free and paid DLC packages.

Which are the supported languages?

All voice content will be in English. In addition, all written as well as voice over content is localized to Russian, French, German, Brazilian-Portuguese, Polish, Czech and Spanish.


Will there be global leaderboards?

In theHunter: Call of the Wild you can find global, persistent leaderboards per animal, per reserve as well as session-based scoreboards with custom competitions that can be started by players.


How many maps will there be on release?

The release version will contain two very distinct and absolutely massive open-world hunting reserves, Hirschfelden and Layton Lake District.


Has the rendering distance been increased compared to theHunter: Classic?

Yes, the rendering distance has been greatly increased in theHunter: Call of the Wild.
The system now restricts based on 2D data which means that you will still be able to see and shoot animals from high mountain tops.


How many friends can I team up with in game?

Up to 8 friends can hunt together in multiplayer. theHunter: Call of the Wild features both co-op and competitive multiplayer modes.


How many huntable species are there?

The release version of the game will include 12 huntable species:

How do I register theHunter: Call of the Wild?

Call of the Wild will be playable through the online games platform Steam only.

After the game was successfully registered to the account you can download it in the ‘Library’ section by simply double clicking it.


What are the minimum system requirements for theHunter: Call of the Wild?

The system requirements for theHunter: Call of the Wild are as follows:

How can I set theHunter: Call of the Wild to borderless windowed mode?

To activate this function, make sure the game is closed, then right-click on the game in your Steam library, select ‘properties’, click on ‘set launch options’ and type in: /borderless

When you start the game next time it will be set to borderless windowed mode.


I am having issues with my graphic settings and / or experience graphics related game crashes.

If you are experiencing graphical issues in the game please make sure to update your drivers first. You can do so by downloading either nVidia GeForce Experience or ATI Catalyst Control Center. Further please make sure that your PC fulfills the min. requirements needed to launch the game. Is it necessary to be online in Steam to play theHunter: Call of the Wild?

No, after the game has been downloaded and is ready to play, online functionality is not required. Single player mode can be played while offline, however the multiplayer functionality will be inaccessible until an online connection is available.


I can’t connect to the game, what can I do?

You will be able to enjoy the single player version of theHunter: Call of the Wild in offline mode. If you experience connection issues when playing Multiplayer please contact our customer support team: {LÄNK BORTTAGEN}http://support.thehunter.com/hc/en-us


Can I play on a SLI or Crossfire system in theHunter: Call of the Wild?

You can play the game on SLI and Crossfire supported systems, however, we plan on further improving and tweaking the performance in the future.


Can I use my ultra wide screen monitor (21:9) in theHunter: Call of the Wild?

Yes, you will be able to play with an ultra wide screen monitor. However, some players may encounter inconsistencies with the display of the menu on some rare occasions. We plan on optimizing this in the future.

Account and Billing

I am trying to purchase theHunter: Call of the Wild on Steam but I cannot finish the transaction. What can I do?

This can be for a number of reasons. The most common ones are that the payment method you are trying to use is not accepted or your selected payment method has expired / does not have sufficient funds available. Where can I redeem my promotion and pre-order code?

Some players may receive an error message when redeeming the code, although the items will still be correctly redeemed on the account. This is a temporary known issue and we are working with Steam in order to resolve it as soon as possible.
