Random stuttering / freezing on high end rig
Problem:

Frame rate runs silky smooth but the game will randomly hitch or freeze in-game or in the menus. During these stutters GPU usage will drop from ~25% to 5%. This happens with any combination of GSYNC On or Off, as well as VSYNC On or Off. I have also tried with FXAA Off and MSAA Off and setting turned up all the way (MSAA 8x and FXAA On).

Overall CPU and RAM usage are very low, however two cores are maxing out at 100%. Even so each core is running @ 4.2 GHz.

Anybody else experiencing this?

Specs:

OS: WIndows 10 Pro x64
CPU: Intel i7-6900K
RAM: Corsair DDR4 64GB (4x16)
GPU: Titan X Pascal
HD: Samsung 850 EVO SSD

While the 6900K is more of a workstation CPU, I never had any of these issues in other dual or single threaded apps or games. Even with VR titles.

EDIT 1:

- I have attempted to set the proccess to High and Realtime Priority, that did not solve the issue

- I also attempted to set proccessor affinity to 4 and 8 cores, which definitely balanced the load better between cores (no used core is at 100% usage now), but it still stutters randomly.

The game needs an update. I run it on 25fps, and WWE 2K16 on high-60fps

yeah we built all the computers in the house we have 5 gaming computers connected on a 1 gb network we all share the steam games , have you tried to check the files with steam and also run a scandisk to check theres no bad sectors or clusters on your hdd it only takes one dodgy file for a program to crash in the past i have had to totaly remove and game and redownload its a nightmare when things dont work and theres no obious reason

another issue i have had in the past is any programs with overlays can also cause stuttering problems i use the evga per x program ,

That's why it works; you know how computers work.

Most people here (the one's whining about low fps), buy a computer they say: I want a computer that's capable of gaming. Store sells expensive pre-installed machine. Works great for native PC games, fails miserably on ported games (like this WWE series). So they say: FIX this game, give an update!

Actually: finetune your PC; make sure the game has administrator rights, get the game off that external drive, check your system for errors.

I'm just trying to see if people similar to my setup are having similar issues and I'm currently going through my troubleshooting steps.

This isn't a pre-built rig, I chose and assembled these parts for particular reasons. It's setup so I can encode video, do workstation tasks, run VMs if needed for my job (as well be a mobile VR machine). No other games or apps have these issues at the moment so it's a bit odd.

I also posted this at the 2K forums and got a response as well:

https://forums.2k.com/showthread.php?4306739-Random-stuttering-freezing-on-high-end-rig&p=14805713#post14805713

I'm sharing this because it seems to be a good lead, this setup is very similar to mine.
