Screen Resolution is Unabling me from Playing
The game seems to be working fine, but everytime I try to play it, the Welcome Message blocks all the icons in the Main Menu (I cannot select the icon "OK" to close the message). If I minimize the game and then return to it, the game will reconfigure the screen resolution to a smaller one, which again blocks the icons, unabling me to do anything in the game (it is like the screen have been cut). It seems to be a graphic driver issue of some sort, which is odd, for I was able to run the original Ashes Of The Singularity without any of these problems before. Now that I have Escalation, I just cannot play because of these issues I mentioned, even though I still have the same computer which ran the original game smoothly in the past. Any tips here, guys?

Thanks in advance,

Daniel

I also forgot to mention that, sometimes, the game crashes, and the computer reboots.

Contact Stardock support so they can get more details from you. System specs, drivers, whether you've even tried basic troubleshooting steps (verifying game cache, deleting settings file) etc.

Thanks, Ekko Tek. Hopefully they will help me solving this problem out.

you need to go into the file folder and change your resolution setting. This happend to me when I switched monitors.

I dont know why they dont have a way around this in the menu to adjust to your new settings or revert back.

I went to the file folder, but I could not find a way to change the resolution setting. Elavatedin Tron, would you mind to give me some directions here once more (I like your avatar by the way, although I am an Illuminate!)? Thanks in advance, and sorry if I am bothering you by asking this.

You should be able to run the game in safe mode? That's not working?
Saurosapiens Dec 17, 2016 @ 3:58pm
Unfortunatelly, not. The same problem persists even on safe mode. As I said before, I am pretty sure the game is working fine, the problem is the resolution.

Go into the Ashes of the Singularity files folder (not Escalation) in windows. It's in the base game folder, located in the configuration settings. You have to manually change it to whatever resolution you are currently running. For me its Resolution =1920,1080. once you do this the game should launch fine and give you access to the menu. I hope this helps.

I have seen a couple people on the forums run into this problem, including myself. I believe its from changing the resolution setting or aspect ratio. Your monitor cant support it and you have to revert back. It wont let you past the message of the day.

So I guess the developers should know this, perhaps a patch should solve the problem if it is more common than we think. Afterall, other people are having the same issues. Still having a bad time here (thanks anyway!), but I will keep trying... For I really like this game, and I miss my Substrate!

And I just realized that, if Elavatedin Tron could solve his problem by accessing the files of the original game, how about those who does not own the original, since this is a standalone expansion?

What resolution you have ?
Saurosapiens Dec 18, 2016 @ 8:26am
My current resolution is 1366 x 768. What I think it is odd is that I could run the original game with this resolution without any problems.

OK, guys, after resetting some graphic options on my computer, I can finally run the game (but on Safe Mode, using DirectX 11). I wish to thank you guys for all the information you gave me, as well for the attention too. Substrate will prevail!
